Currently, our country and world are hurting. While COVID-19 continues to rattle nations around the globe, millions in this country – and as far away as New Zealand – are taking to the streets to express frustrations for the ongoing injustices to black Americans, made publicly apparent by the murder of George Floyd in Minnesota. It's no secret though, that this "normal" our black and minority friends & neighbors face exists in this community too. We encourage you to use your voice to make known that racism has no place in our hearts in Evansville and beyond. And, we invite you to join in on a number of initiatives in our community that work to amplify the voices of the minorities and the marginalized – one of them being TEDxEvansville, of which Nick Basham and Matt Wagner are part of.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We've just released Episode 15: TEDxEvansville Takeover, during which Nick and Matt are joined by Heather McNabb, Leslie Eades and Zac Parsons to discuss the origins of TEDxEvansville, how they each got involved, why they think it's important for our community, and the future of the event.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We also invite you to listen to our past conversations that discuss other initiatives in Evansville seeking to transform perspectives and encourage inclusion – Episode 8: Left Turn Productions Interview, Episode 10: Summer El-Khodary Interview, and Episode 13: Changemaking.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
