On Memorial Day, in addition to our awesome Monday programming, we will be honoring the memory of Jerry Barnhart who served in the U.S. Army and was the host of "Vets Visits on TV," shown in over 60 markets in 38 states. Jerry passed away in 2021, but CLTV's Jack Doepke sat down with Jerry in 2020 and produced a video of his life journey. It is quite unique and extensive! We still play Jerry's "World of Music" series on occasion, and he is missed by all of us. Check back for playback times.

Black and White Friday Night takes us back to 1949 with the classic, "Holiday Affair" starring Robert Mitchum and Janet Leigh. Look for a young Henry Morgan too (Colonel Potter - MASH.) Also a 1910 Edison Classic "A Christmas Carol" featuring one of the earliest editions of this Dickens classic.

Rochester Public Access wants to say goodbye to our old friend Jerry Barnhardt who created and hosted Vets Visits on TV for over 15 years. Jerry passed away last week at the age of 92. We created over 120 VV programs together. Jerry also hosted "World of Music" featuring local concerts and "Words to Inspire" poetry readings. Jerry was an amazing man and served in the Korean war as a coronet player and ventriloquist with his sidekick, Archie Cobb. He will be missed. We will pay tribute to him in the future. Please stay tuned.

Rochester public access no longer accepts DVDs or VHS programs. We have gone 100% digital, making playback submission easier for everyone! We can play the following:

1. 1920 x 1080 or 720 x 480 frame size
2. H.264 compression
3. 29.97 Frames per second
4. AAC audio
5. .Mov or .Mp4 file format
6. 48khz audio sample rate

Due to Governor Walz' mandate, Rochester Public Access will be pausing playback as of Friday, November 20th. RCTC which hosts the channel will be closed from that date until December 7th. At some point, this policy will be reviewed and I will update everyone at that point.

Jerry, who brought you "Vets Visits on TV" for over a decade, and "World of Music" concert series is back with a new show "Thoughts to Inspire." Jerry Brings music and poetry to channel 181 weekdays at 1PM.

8:00pm Interview: Minnesota First Congressional district representative Republican challenger Jim Hagedorn.

8:30 pm. Interview: Minnesota First Congressional district representative incumbent Democrat Tim Walz

These can be seen in Rochester, Stewartville, Eyota, Zumbrota, Byron and Kasson on Charter Cable 181. We will resume our normal playback schedule the following week.

RPA would like to send our condolences for two recent losses to our community. June Barnhart, long time treasurer for Vets Visits on TV passed away in September, and Tom Hosier, host and organizer of the Scott Hosier WWII Roundtable discussion series passed away in October. Vets Visits was a mainstay on Rochester Public Access for over 15 years with close to 200 monthly shows produced. Hosted and Produced by Jerry Barnhart, VV was the most widely distributed locally produced show, reaching 39 states. The Scott Hosier WWII Roundtable is seen every Thursday and Friday night. I have not heard if the series will continue, but we will continue to replay the great stories until we receive word. Our thoughts are with their families. Both shows did an excellent job of sharing stories of our veterans and their history.
