THE SEARCH IS ON FOR THE MISSING GENERAL AVIATION PIPER PA-32 AIRCRAFT
The search is on for the missing Piper PA-32 Cherokee single-engine aircraft with tail number RPC-1234 from the General Aviation piloted by Captain Levy N. Abul II that went missing on 30 November 2023.
Captain Abul, took off from Cauayan City Airport (RPUY) at 0939H (9:39am) bound for Palanan, Isabela (RPLN), with one passenger on board, who is a native of Divilacan, Isabela. Captain Abul was expected to land at 1023H (10:23am) but failed to reach its destination.
According to CAAP, the last contact of RPUY air traffic controller with RPC-1234 was at a distance of 15.02 nautical miles east of Cauayan City, Isabela. The PAF-TOG2 also presented captured images of the flight radar showing the location where the plane lost sight of the radar.
The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Region 2, the Philippine Air Force - Tactical Operations Group 2 (PAF-TOG2) and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines – Philippine Aeronautical Rescue Coordination Center (CAAP-PARCC) had an emergency meeting for the search and rescue operations of the missing Piper PA-32 Cherokee aircraft.
The 505th Search and Rescue Group of the Philippine Air Force identified the location within the vicinity of Palanan, Isabela, and near San Marino. The PAF search and rescue team conducted an early morning (01 December 2023) search and will continue to locate the missing Piper aircraft if the weather is favorable.
It was on 17 March 2018 when a General Aviation Piper PA-32RT T-Tail Lance aircraft with tail number RP-C299 operated by Lite Air Express crashed after takeoff in Plaridel Airport (RPUX) killing the 3 pilots and a two aircraft mechanics onboard.
