Longtime TOS listeners will remember Don...our condolences to his family and friends. Rest in peace.

And another great one is gone! Don Christen, founder of Maine Vocals, has passed away. We ultimately have him to thank for the freedom we enjoy today, regarding the legal status of ma*****na in Maine.

Don and the radio station had a close relationship. TOS: The Mountain of Pure Rock was the only station that would promote the message of Maine Vocals and their events, such as Hempstock, Harvest Fest, and Freedom Fest. And Donny was a regular and frequent guest on Mr. Mike's Sunday morning public affairs show during the days of cannabis prohibition.

Don had some big balls - sparking up a protest joint every Patriots Day on the courthouse steps in Skowhegan beginning in 1991, and advocating for personal freedom whenever he could. We will miss him, but his legacy and message lives on. Light one up for Donny today!

We lost another member of the TOS family this week. If you listened to TOS in the 90s, you undoubtedly remember J Mac, the host of Dead Set, Gone Phishin', and Zappa's World on Sunday nights. Rest easy, man!

Well, another great one is gone. If you listened to TOS: The Mountain of Pure Rock in the 90s, you undoubtedly remember J Mac, the host of Dead Set, Gone Phishin', and Zappa's World on Sunday nights. He was also a legend in the whitewater community (known as Johnny Mack), and one my oldest friendships. Now, he's surfing some class "infinity" rapids in the great beyond. If Jerry and Frank are in the boat, I hope they know how to paddle "all ahead"! Rest in peace, my friend. Such a long, long time to be gone, and a short time to be here.
