I am emotionally wounded by the sad demise of Mr. Bijay Mohanty, legendary actor, theatre director, teacher, and my super senior from the National School Of Drama.
I got inspired hugely by his acting by watching his films during my childhood and youth before my exposure to world cinema and theatre. I also had the opportunity to direct him in my second Odia feature film Mukhyamantri in 2009. Learned a lot watching him acting in front of my naked eyes. By the time I reached the post-production of the film, I was under bankruptcy. He came forward to do his bit without demanding for the last installment of his professional fees.
I moved to Mumbai started off as a daily soap director and after few months I wanted to clear his professional dues but he refused to accept it.... on the contrary, he showered his blessings ... He became a great friend and a great super senior. He would always call me up to appreciate my creative work... Which I shall miss for the rest of my life. His contribution to the field of Odia cinema and theatre is enormous... a great actor, teacher, director and one of the greatest souls I have ever met.
Dear Sir, you are immortal ...RIP... Naman🙏
