Hey everyone (Ryan here), sorry about the lack of updates lately. A combination of a recent move from Australia to Canada, a crazy amount of overtime on two films back to back, and a period of non-motivation on Cyan Eyed (this happens from time to time when working on short animated films that span years) all happened in a short space of time. But rest assured, Cyan Eyed is still going strong, and I hope to ramp it up to finish what I believe is now the home stretch of the production. Stay tuned for many more cool updates, and thank you all for your continued support!

We are proud to unveil the new official Cyan Eyed logo! This version integrates the cool ambigram of the original version with a much easier to read title.

With Ryan's recent move from Australia to Canada, development on Cyan Eyed had temporarily halted for a couple of months. But rest assured that within a few weeks from now, Cyan Eyed will plunge full steam ahead once again towards the finish line. Thank you for your continued support!

Maurice's Symphony | A Short Film About a Deaf Musician

Today we are putting the spotlight on ANOTHER Steampunk film, born in Adelaide, South Australia.

Alex Nakone and Andrei Gostin are the film makers behind Maurice's Symphony, an ambitious short film which tells the story of Maurice Matters, (Brenden Dodds) who loses his hearing in an industrial accident. Through a revolutionary procedure, he may be able to enjoy his love of classical music once more.

During production Cyan Eyed Producer Jasmin Watkins and PR Officer Sean Watts were involved as crew. On Saturday, November 19, there will be a gala fundraising screening to raise money for Deaf Can:Do and CanDo4Kids.

SEAN WATTS - PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGER
Sean is a big kid at heart with an obsession for all things imaginative and visual: robots, vehicles, weapons, creatures and he's very much at home in the worlds of action, sci-fi and fantasy. Outside of pop culture, Sean is a dedicated martial artist and instructor. He has an affinity for and relates to Ryan's sense of ambition and scale and he is keen to help showcase the world of Cyan Eyed to the rest of the world.

Sean has this year started his own production company Wolfhorde Studios​ as the hub for his film projects as a screenwriter and director but is also open as a professional in terms of graphic design, concept design and illustration, film making and fight choreography.

Cyan Eyed is Nicole's third collaboration with Ryan as composer, having written the music to his previous films ’Sneeze Me Away’, and ’The Rose of Turaida’. This film was pitched to her as being an action-packed Victorian steam-punk adventure replete with sexy pirates and robots. Who would say no to that? She immediately started orchestrating a canvass filled with pure noise, distorted guitars, percussion, brass, synths, and low strings. Collaborating with the sound design team from Skywalker is an absolute dream, and she is super excited to conduct the orchestral session in LA.

Mac Smith is a sound designer for feature films. Both music and film have had a strong presence in his life from a young age, and his musical performance talents took him on tour across the United States. He’s worked on the sound of over 70 films, has been nominated for 10 Golden Reel awards and has worked with filmmakers Robert Zemeckis, Gore Verbinski, Chris Columbus, Kevin Smith, and John Lasseter. So apparently the Czech Republic love The Rose of Turaida (88% rating), and has even gotten a translation into Czech by someone. Though to be clear, the film wasn't uploaded to this website by Ryan, but it's still, a good sign!
