Today, November 14, marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the greatest violinist, musician and pedagogue, my dear professor Leonid Borisovich Kogan.
The phenomenon of Leonid Kogan’s genius is that his performance has always fascinated and continues to fascinate listeners regardless of time, era or age. Many generations of violinists learn to perfect their skills on inimitable and unique recordings of works performed by Kogan.
Refined technique, virtuoso mastery, depth of interpretation and pe*******on into the essence of every detail of a musical work, as well as an amazing command of the sonic palette make the musical works performed by Leonid Kogan unforgettable examples of perfection in the history of musical and performing art, being pearls of the world’s musical heritage.
