Your network isn’t just about who you know—it’s about creating a circle of people who inspire you, share your goals, and offer guidance while you do the same for them. Building genuine relationships with individuals who align with your ambitions ensures mutual support as you grow.

✅ Steps:
1. Identify someone inspiring: Choose someone whose career path, work, or insights align with your ambitions (e.g., a producer, director, or writer making waves in your space).

2. Send a personalised message:
- Acknowledge their work: Highlight their achievements and the impact they’ve had. Show genuine appreciation.
- Tell them about yourself: Keep it concise (70-100 words, as in your bio).
- Ask for advice: Pose one actionable question they’re uniquely equipped to answer (not a job request).

Rejection is inevitable in this industry, but here’s the truth: it’s not a reflection of your worth. If you’re truly committed to your project and serving something bigger than your ego, the “no’s” or unanswered emails shouldn’t break you. They’re not personal—they’re simply part of the process.

Reflect on your answer and think about how you can shift your mindset to see rejection as a stepping stone, not a setback.

On paper, oversharing might make us sound like the star of our own show, while saying too little can feel a bit cold. Today, let’s spruce up our bio. Watch this video featuring Emily Fielden, Head of Talent, Unscripted at Studio Lambert, sharing her insights on crafting the perfect bio. Are there improvements you could make to yours? This task is especially useful if you’re planning to apply for Breakthrough Leaders or need to update your LinkedIn profile.

Take the weekend to reflect on the tasks of the week. We’ve thought about what we want to achieve this year, why, how these goals will impact others, and why you are uniquely placed to achieve them. How does it feel when you write it down or read it aloud? Is there any discomfort? Become aware of where this discomfort is coming from and write it down.

Day 8:

✅ What types of companies or organisations do you want to work with?
✅ What would be a dream commission?
