We have just learned that one of the original programmers at Pirate Radio 100.3 FM KQLZ Los Angeles, Randy Kabrich passed away this week. Randy was instrumental in helping to launch the Pirate.

First, it's a really good one, and second, without being a spoiler, I will say this. You will be as shocked as Sammy was to find out his ultimate roots at the end of the episode!

It is with a very heavy heart that we report the passing of The Last DJ, the infamous Jim Ladd of KLOS and KMET fame, and most recently on SiriusXM's Deep Tracks Channel. While on the two L.A. stations, his four hour slot of 10 pm to 2 am was a Must Listen, as he often called for his listeners to guide him to the music of the night, oftentimes themed rather than random tracks. He had no playlist, even in the days of playlists. He played what he wanted. Period. Yours truly was usually glued to KMET at the time but while Jim was at KLOS, I strayed over to KLOS at night just to hear his show. He was THAT GOOD. You felt like he was in your living room, talking with you. It was amazingly intimate radio. You, your friends and Jim. He will be missed.

We've actually never wished anyone a happy birthday on here before, but just gotta this time. Though belated (his actual bday was yesterday, December 3), we wanted to send a shout out. I mean, c'mon, it's OZZY! A founding member of Black Sabbath back in 1968, and arguably he and Sabbath created what is now known as heavy metal. He and his band(s) have influenced and promoted so many artists over the years, that it's crazy! You just have to respect someone like this. Happy birthday Ozzy Osbourne !!!
