Auditions for two Black leads in romantic drama!!!

RHAPSODY
By Ryan Calais Cameron
‘Love begins with a smile grows with a kiss, and ends with a tear drop’

RHAPSODY is a contemporary romantic drama documenting the relationship of two young lovers: ASIA a trainee nurse, and budding photographer, with a rebellious streak, and YOUSEF, a charismatic music producer who takes every day as it comes. The play moves abstractly, to-and-fro, to eminent moments in their relationship. The story is a stripped back, and honest, fly on the wall observation of “love” and how subjective it can be, documenting it from its conception right into “happy ever after” and beyond. Rhapsody is a play about two halves of a relationship: the first moment you fall in love with someone, and the realization that comes when the bubble bursts, and any chance of recovery may be lost
The play embodies, themes of love, mental illness, tribulations and how to smile through the rain

Nouveau Riche in association with Arcola Lab are currently auditioning actors for a special rehearsed reading/scratch performance of Ryan Calais Cameron’s Rhapsody.

Actors must be very confident with site-reading.

ASIA: BLACK/Age 21-30/Intelligent/Bold/

YOUSEF: BLACK/Age 21-30/Funny/Charismatic

Rehearsals are from the 4th-6th of September. Performance will be on the 8th of September at the Arcola theatre.
