Dirty Inputs is Aaron Dawson, an electronic musician and video artist based in Toronto, Canada. Dawson was part of the Toronto ambient drone collective Off The International Radar and has shared the stage with the likes of Holy F**k, A Place To Bury Strangers, Junior Boys, Hauschka, Growing, Nadja, Nonotak, God Is An Astronaut, Quintron and many others. Dirty Inputs’ euphoric synth-driven soundscapes search for the realm between the beautiful and the terrifying, creating a body of work that is often dark and brooding, and other times joyful and emotional.
The Prism is an album about controlling your perception. Can you change your mood, your experience or your current situation by changing the way you perceive things? Is your mind powerful enough to shape your reality? Dirty Inputs retreats into the dark recesses of the inner sanctum to find out, and invites you on a psychedelic voyage through a personal phantasmagoria.
The Prism shifts and changes, leading through haunted corridors only to suddenly open up into unexpected chasms filled with crystal wonders.

Toronto based electronic musician HEIKI releases a four track e.p. of pure analogue electro machine funk. Komplexobox features tense synth stabs and futuristic paranoid synths strings. Clashing with complex drum machine rhythms and bass-popping 303s.
Created with an array of vintage and current hardware synthesizers and analogue drum boxes (including a borrowed Roland TR808 from electro idm meister, SOLVENT).
Vocoder voices bark out directives, while the boogie funk of the bass keeps on percolating. The future arrived and it can be bleak. This is not computer music. This is high tech synth funk.

Heiki Sillaste has been releasing electronic records for 30+ years. Former and current musical projects and bands include DIGITAL POODLE, KINDER ATOM, LAZER CAPS, HOZERZ and LES FONTAINES. Heiki has also created a large solo body of work with music ranging from acid, electro, dub techno, ambient, industrial, psychedelic and abstract experimental music.

Noodler of primitive technology, ex-monk, and born from the pre-shadow days of the uk’s first wave of rave, Raghunath is interested in intuitive sound sculpture, emotional fluency, and meaningful experience. A long-time radio presence, they currently host Mantra Radio on CiTR 101.9fm in Vancouver, organize music events, and hold regular club residencies in the same city.
Benevolent Static is Raghunath Khe’s debut album for the paper+sound label. The compositions on this album were originally scored for an experimental documentary film by artist Miki Aurora. The film is a documentation of a plant-medicine healing ceremony performed by two women and captured on grainy security camera footage. The tracks on Benevolent Static have been re-worked and reordered to exist irrespective of the film, taking the listener through the warm static grain in an attempt to find the holy sentience that permeates the trans-dimensional glitch. Though not beat driven per se, many segments include stated and understated elements that constitute rhythm. The album spans the gamut from droning soundscapes, to minimalistic melodic forms and more structured progressions.

LES FONTAINES: Chalet Électronique
Toronto based ‘électro-psyche’ duo Les Fontaines return with their fifth release “Chalet Électronique”. Their five song e.p. was once again recorded at the Sauna Porch Recordings Co., an isolated log-cabin studio located in the woodlands of Ontario.
The tracks were created within the duo’s self-imposed parameters: two electronic instruments each, all recordings live off the floor and that each final track had to clock in under five minutes.
Opening with Pool Noodle, a piece of swirling and slightly disorienting psychedelic electro pop. The song’s chunky, primitive beats melt into overlapping arpeggios, and is perfectly suited to accompany slightly evil atonal discotheques.
Title track Chalet Électronique slows down the tempo considerably. A veeerrry slowly evolving dubby ambient groove, the title track was recorded under a full starry night sky. Every moment in the piece, reveals brand new alien sounds that Lorenz and Heiki coaxed out their machines that evening.

Well past the midnight hour… Through the ominous fog from the black lake… Suddenly without warning… appears the infamous Doctor Goth! A tough rhythm and a tougher bassline sets the dark tone… and only the occasional synthesized light rays of melodic hope… pierces through the Doctor’s masked veil…
Pastoral motorique electro-pop. Les Fontaines whistle into the electronique wind. Ce n’est rien plus que du bloopedy bloop. Moutarde Préparée. C’est jolie ça!
Lorenz Peter (synths, noise, turntables) has played in numerous other duos, including CORPUSSE, OFFWORLD and in bass synth duo PROCESSOR. His recent 8 track solo album of mutant techno Restarting is out now on paper+sound.
Heiki Sillaste (synths, drum machines, effects) has previously made music as cult elektro industrialists DIGITAL POODLE and electronic maximalists KINDER ATOM. His current music groups includes HOZERZ and his recent solo album of ambient dub techno, Dub Town on his paper+sound label.
Les Fontaines will be following up the Chalet Électronique e.p. shortly, with their psyche garage punk release Garage Méchanique. Raw! Mono! Unhinged garage recordings made in sub-freezing temperatures! C’est bon!
