Business has changed since COVID. On this episode of The Tim and Jim Show, we are joined by Linda Rey of Aurora Consulting and we are going to learn from someone who has been in the trenches helping businesses thrive in a difficult time.

Linda Rey loves working with business owners who see their limitless potential to grow their businesses.

Her insurance experience spans 35 years. As a previous insurance agency owner, Linda managed the Commercial Lines Department, new business development, agency branding, and networking.

Linda Rey’s professional experience includes:

* Personnel Development

In 2017, Linda launched a new venture with her partner, Trevor. They created Aurora Consulting, a commercial financing brokerage to help entrepreneurs expand their enterprises with unique and cost-effective business credit financing solutions.

When the pandemic hit, the business shut down as Lenders scrambled with the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). As true entrepreneurs do, Linda Rey and Trevor pivoted.

They had enough experience with how to apply for a business loan and sought to help business owners learn the fundamentals on how to apply for the SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) given the very confusing SBA process.

Aurora Consulting developed a national reputation assisting business owners all over the country and helped businesses to secure $70 million (that we know of) in disaster funding for small business owners.

StreamYard is actually, I think I can say it, it's coming out with an app. It's going to be on the phone that you'll be able to - no, it's not a dream, Tim. It's coming soon, very soon.

And, they've got some other stuff out on the timeline for I think this quarter. I think they're looking at doing custom overlays ... And I believe also on the roadmap is scenes - so just like some of the other livestreaming software they're doing that, and one of the things that I really appreciate about StreamYard Tim is StreamYard doesn't release stuff until it's ready because you've gotta remember their 3 pillars are stream stability, ease of use and professional looking streams."

So, I (Tim Sohn) spoke with the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society afterwards (the healthcare meetup at Podfest Multimedia Expo), and so I'm going to have the opportunity to be on their audio podcast sharing my cancer story.

And I connected with the woman who was there from LLS - she's an acute leukemia survivor, and she's going to be on Showing Up: Perspectives on Cancer. And there were several other people who had cancer connections as well in the group who are going to be on Showing Up, or we could collaborate in some other ways.

For me, making connections is the biggest advantage of attending these events.

Want to learn how to live your best life? Join Tim Sohn and Jim Fuhs as they have a conversation with Dorothy O'Dell about the "5 Steps to Live Your Best Life."

Dorothy O’Dell is the founder of Unstoppable Overcomers Productions.

She started her love of media back in 2020 when she was trying to get her name known after writing her first book The Overcomer.

After a lot of trial-and-error, Dorothy started live streaming her show Unstoppable Overcomers in May of 2021.

Her sole purpose of the show was to showcase amazing people that have overcame great odds and have gone on to help other people. She wanted to let people know that they were never alone in their circumstances.

She has gone on to interview over 140 people.

After being coached by Tim Sohn for a live streaming course back in April of 2021, they stayed friends and have helped each other through some difficult times.

When Tim asked for Dorothy’s help him to become the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Man of the Year, she said yes and joined the volunteer team.

This is where Dorothy came up with the idea to do a 24-hour live streaming event to bring awareness for LLS and to raise money. Their first event raised $5,000, so they did it again and did a 12-hour live stream event. Over the total 10 weeks of the campaign, the team raised $15,000.

From these events. the impact on people’s lives is what you can’t put a price tag on. The relationships and lives changed from those events is what makes the difference for Dorothy.

Dorothy, along with her husband Joe and stepson, reside in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Dorothy’s mission is to eradicate homelessness and bring awareness of more topics that people think are taboo cause taboo will not do!

Dorothy is author of "The Overcomer: Facing Challenges With Faith and Courage," and she recently released "The Overcomer Playbook."
