Sometimes life is too unfair and inexplicable.

Hey Shopify store owner, are you taking advantage of its Partner Integration with TikTok? 🛍️ With a business account, you can easily integrate your Shopify product catalogue to set up TikTok Storefront. This helps TikTok buyers discover and browse your products within the TikTok app. The checkout and post-payment happen on your existing platform. Pretty cool, right?

Went to my first live event last night. Soooo good to be back in a live setting and listening to the talks in person.

What struck me the most was how brave these women were. Not only because they were on stage standing on the Ted Red Dot and talking in public but because they shared their very personal stories with us all to inspire change 👊

The stories covered topics from digital privacy for teenagers to allow them to make mistakes and grow, disinformation and how we're all subjective, modern families and letting go of traditional norms, pressures that come with representing your race, gender or other groups, animal discrimination and how all animals should be protected in the same way, embracing menopause in the workplace and stop playing small, youth involvement in policy making and lastly, but not least, body dissatisfaction and reclaiming our bodies in a world that still obsessed with the female body😅 So much to unpack there.

Many years ago, I decided to adopt Thanksgiving and make it our own in Amsterdam. I love that it's not about consumerism. We get to cook and pig out with friends - our chosen family. This year, it was made even more special with my sisters joining. Couldn't have asked for more love in that house of ours. Thank you thank you thank you 🙏🏼

Throwback to the beautiful wedding of our gorgeous friends, Ben and Sash. We spent a few days leading up to the big day enjoying the area and getting to know each other’s friends. So much fun. Met some amazingly talented and lovely people. The location was magical and chosen for the couple’s love of the area. Not surprising at all.

Let me re-introduce myself 👋 Hi, I'm Franca. Business owner, mum of two, food, travel, nature lover. This is me👆Here, I'm hard at work at a café. I always look this calm and collected as I strategise and sip flat whites.

(swipe) Who am I kidding? I usually look like this👆Hot and sweaty from a workout or from a menopause moment.

(swipe) I spend most of my time with this crew; they're pretty cool. I like them. A lot. Especially the furry one 🐾

(swipe) I live in Amsterdam and no, we don't all hang out in coffee shops and the Red Light District. And yes, it's very beautiful. Feeling blessed every day.

(swipe) I work some of the time from a shared workspace so I get to put grown-up clothes on. On the other days, I work from home. The best thing about working from home? I get to do laundry while I'm taking a break from Ads Manager. Such a perk, right?

I plan to share a bit more about myself and what I do. And hopefully, share some helpful tips related to my digital consultancy. Maybe it will help you if you're an ambitious business owner trying to grow on social.

Making your products shoppable on Instagram just got easier 👍

Now, anyone can tag your product(s) in their feed post. This was tested in the U.S. and is now available to everyone giving your community the opportunity to tag and share your products.

How❓

When creating a feed post, people can use the tagging feature to tag a brand and then specify a product 🏷

When someone taps on a product tag on a published Feed post, they’ll be able to get detailed information about your product, either by clicking through to the product detail page on your business' website or on the product detail page on Instagram 🆒

📢 Another move from Instagram giving credit where credit's due - to original content and creators.

🎥 Does this mean you'll be penalised if you create and edit outside of IG and share? Apparently not, according to Mosseri.

❓Does this mean your UGC might be downranked? Maybe.

The content ranking feature is a work in progress but the goal is to reduce the aggregator players and credit original creators.

TikTok released its simple creative tips to make your ads work harder 🚀 And who's to say these insights can't be applied to other platforms and short-form video formats? Are you thinking what I'm thinking? 🤔

By scanning the platform and analysing the ad data, TikTok found these universal best practices for driving conversions:

👉🏻 Shoot in high resolution, video quality matters. Data found that videos shot at 720p resolution or higher saw a massive 312% lift in conversion compared to lower resolution videos.

👉🏻 Go full-screen for full effect. Most TikTok users engage with the platform in portrait mode and shooting in 9:16 aspect ratio ensure you will maximize the screen real estate for full impact with your audience. TikTok found that videos shot in 9:16 aspect ratio saw a 91% lift in conversion, compared to videos that did not match the screen resolution and therefore were framed by black bars at the edges of the screen.

👉🏻 Ask your audience to take action. Give your audience the clear and direct action they need to take to convert. Calls to action in text format have been shown to provide a 152% lift in conversion compared to videos that don’t clearly state what their audience should do next.

👉🏻 Shorter video ads on TikTok that fell between 21 and 34 seconds in length received a 280% lift in conversion compared to videos that fell short or long of that duration window.

💡And one big takeaway for TikTok advertisers - make TikToks, not ads.

So this happened☝🏽My book has officially launched today and I can now say I'm a published author 😅✍🏼

The book is a collaborative project with 20 other inspiring women who each share their stories of how we became unstuck in our lives and our business.

I will probably not win the next literature award but I did write this from the heart and with deep honesty.

I hope this helps other women in similar situations feel less alone and more supported.

I hope this helps them find their way back to their true self and create the life they want 🚀

A year ago today, after 14 years, we said goodbye to our furry friend, Mookie 😢

He was loved by many and is still very, very missed. In the meantime, we've welcomed sweet Lola into our family. No one can take Mookie's place in our hearts but we have a lot of love to give to another furry baby 🐾

For those of you who know me, would know how much happier and fulfilled I am with my work. But it wasn't easy trying to figure out what to do and how to do it after a long career break after kids. It was a struggle. And what helped was taking the step to invest in myself by working with mindset and business coach. I have so much to say on the subject that I've even written a chapter about my journey (more about that later)

It's been on the cards and now it's here: Reels Ads 🎬

You can now use this format in your paid campaigns to get in front of bigger audiences with fun, interactive content that you've been seeing lots of organically 👯‍♀️

Reels ads will be full screen and vertical, similar to ads in Stories,. They will loop and can be up to 30 seconds as with the organic format. Users can comment, like, view, save and share Reels ads 👍🏼

Reels ads will appear in the Reels tab, Reels in Stories, Reels in Explore and Reels in your feed. Once a user taps into a reel from Stories, Feed, the Reels Tab or Explore, they will be in a reels-only feed that scrolls vertically.

Look forward to testing this out with my clients 👏🏼
