Unfortunately the Kickstarter for Jungle Rumble was unsuccessful, but this has actually made me rethink a few thinks and I’m taking a different approach to game development now!
I have not been good at using social media in my life, but I want to change that. I’ve never been good at posting my thoughts on Facebook or other social media partly because I haven’t felt like I had anything interesting to say. But with game development, I feel I have more to throw out to the internet, and I want to try to feel more comfortable getting my thoughts out there.
I also don’t want to feel “chained down” by Jungle Rumble, I have a lot of ideas and want to work on them all. I had worried that I might not get to finishing games if I didn’t just focus on one, but now that I’ve been trying to do that, I don’t enjoy it. So I plan to work on a couple of projects at the same time, so if I’m not in the mood to work on one, I have the option to work on another, which helps me be more productive and consistent instead of choosing not to work on anything at all. For example, the art is finished for Jungle Rumble, so when I’m in an artistic mood, it’s nice to have the option to do art instead of “forcing” myself to work on programming.
Goals:
Top priority right now is Jungle Rumble. Even with working on multiple projects, I still plan on a release date of Oct 29th (the day of the Rumble in the Jungle, the inspiration for the title of the game).
I’ve begun work on my next project, a free-to-play game, entitled Cool Beans. It’s going to be a fun little project that shouldn’t take too long to make. I actually plan to have it finished at the end of the year! It’ll also have updates through out it’s game life.
For the blog, this is my first time ever doing a blog, but I plan on making a post after every session of game development to inform people of what I’m working on, and to possibly spew some thoughts from my head.
