WCQT TV27

Respect Yourself-The Staples Singers

When Atlantic Records moved many of their sessions
to Miami in the early 70's. Stax Records picked up some of the slack and sent
The Staples Singers to Muscle Shoals. The Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section produced
and recorded three of the greatest hits of The Staples Singers including
"Respect Yourself" and "I'll Take You There".

R.B. Greaves -Take A Letter Maria

When The Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section left Fame
Studios in April 1969 and established their own studio at an old casket factory
in Sheffield Alabama, Cher was the first artist to record there and named her
3614 Jackson Highway album after the studio. Within a few months the Muscle
Shoals Rhythm Section had its first chart topping hit
with "Take A Letter Maria" by R.B. Greaves in October 1969.

and Mary with the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section. Mary MacGregor recalls
recording the vocals in the bathroom of the original Muscle Shoals Sound

All 4 One - I Swear

"I Swear" was written by Frank Myer and Gary Baker. Baker was a staff writer at the time for FAME Recording Studios in Muscle Shoals AL. In the US this was the biggest hit of 1994, a country version was recorded by John Michael Montgomery in 1993 and that was followed up in 1994 with a block buster Pop version recorded by the Boy Band "All 4 One".

All-4-One sings "I Swear," one of the most famous love songs from the 90's.

Bob Seger -Rare Against The Wind Live

Barry Beckett and The Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section played on and produced five songs on Bob Seger's "Against The Wind" album in 1980. One of the "Greatest Hits" tracks they produced was "Fire Lake" with backing vocals by the Eagles - Henley, Frey and Schmit. Five tracks from the album were recorded at the Muscle Shoals Sound Studios.

Traffic - Shoot out at the Fantasy Factory 1973

The Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section toured Europe with
Steve Winwood and Traffic recording with them on the road and playing on
Traffics 6th studio album "Shoot out at the Fantasy Factory". The album was

Brown Sugar-Rolling Stones

The Stones came to Sheffield Alabama in December of 1969 to the original Muscle Shoals Sound Studios and recorded 3 songs in 3 days - "Brown Sugar", "Wild Horses" and "You Gotta Move". Sad to say it was only a week before the infamous Altamont Concert.

Bob Seger Main Street

Bob Seger recorded "Main Street'" in 1976 with the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section at the "New" Muscle Shoals Sound Studios in Sheffield, Alabama. "Main Street" was in Ann Arbor Michigan, where Bob grew up and went to school.

Bob Seger - Old Time Rock and Roll

"Old Time Rock and Roll" was recorded in 1977 by Bob Seger and the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section at Muscle Shoals Sound in Muscle Shoals Alabama. Next to Patsy Cline's "Crazy", its the most popular juke box single of all time. This was a rare track that was sent to Seger by the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section as a demo with a different singer. Bob liked it, recorded it and the rest is music history.
