We haven’t posted in a while, but that doesn’t mean we’re not continuing to Kreate-A-Buzz. Lots in store for 2024! We’ve had a very successful 2023 with new and continuing partnerships, impactful “This Ain’t Normal” Film Screenings and Panel Discussions with Ruth Zakarin & Massachusetts Coalition to Prevent Gun Violence, including Beth Israel Lahey Health Film Screening, filmmaking workshops at Emerson College securing grants from Mass and Boston Cultural Councils, and finally completing the filming stage of our newest film “Neighborhood Oasis: Chopping It Up” after five years and now deep into post-production editing with our amazing editor Oriel Danielson Below are some of the posters and images from 2023.

Kreateabuzz Documentary Films will continue our team mission to spotlights stories that illuminate the beauty, resiliency, and challenges faced by people of color in the predominantly Black and Brown neighborhoods of Boston, MA., from perspectives rarely seen in mainstream and Hollywood studio films. We foster opportunities for dialogue, understanding, and compassion between folks from diverse lived experiences. We educate, inspire, and mobilize audiences for measurable outcomes through community screenings, film festivals and national distribution of our Emmy-nominated and award-winning films on national cable networks: such as SHOWTIME® TV Network, PBS, Aspire Network, ESPN Classic Cable Network; and streaming services: iTunes, Amazon Prime, Vudu, Google Play, Hoopla and YouTube Movies.
We’ve always appreciated your support in this ongoing endeavor.

: Check out the Emmy award video from that memorable evening one year ago. Great memories and amazing experience for our KB team at the 2021 national Emmys / Television Academy Awards when our film was nominated for the prestigious award of "Outstanding Social Issue Documentary" film. We didn’t win the category, BUT it was quite an honor and validation of our independent film. It focuses on a different story about our Black communities in Boston & the orgs and community advocates that support and transform the lives of gang-involved youth. Freestyle Digital Media

● Proposed questions for the panel:
○ Talking about the role trauma plays in what we saw in the film - what do you think needs to happen to better address mental health and emotional well being in communities most impacted by gun violence?
○ Can you reflect on programs/interventions that you think are critical to violence prevention, such as youth jobs or other measures? Why are they so important?
○ We know that rates of violence increase in the summer, and given that, what else would you like to see happen in Boston that can prevent that from happening?
○ Addressing the nuances of what we mean when we talk about gang violence vs guns - the differences and the intersections.
