Want your business to be the top-listed Media Company?
97.5 WFBB is a low power FM station. Low power FM stations (LPFMs) are a forum for nonprofits, schools, churches, community centers, farmworker organizations, unions, environmentalists, and just about anyone else who wants to amplify their message.
The FCC launched the low power FM service in 2000 after grassroots pressure demanded community control of the airwaves. The service is entirely commercial-free, and licenses were only granted to nonprofit organizations. (https://www.prometheusradio.org/frequently-asked-questions).
The original vision of WFBB was to have our messages broadcast for those who could not come to the campus, provide a segment for our youth ministries to host shows in the evening and to showcase Christian students and teachers in our schools. We knew we did not have the personnel to man the station full time so we contracted with the KLOVE system out of Nashville. We could make our own commercials about church ministries and special community interests that would be appropriate. We also saw it as a possible emergency broadcast/communications tool during times of community crisis.
In 2014, after being approached by a station in Jacksonville, we moved from 100.3 to 97.5 to accommodate that station’s frequency needs. We entered into a brief agreement with The Promise out of Jacksonville, FL to re-broadcast their signal until they decided to become a commercial station. We then decided to focus mostly on the type of music that those attending our church would here, contemporary praise and worship.
