Today is not a happy day for me, in fact, it is very sad. Emotionally, physically, spiritually, I'm exhausted. We don't get to talk about that a lot here, so I'll tell you just a little bit.
I'm going to have to give up one of my most beloved tails so that I can afford to go on. This is not an easy decision for me to make, but it comes with being disabled in a predominantly able-bodied world. I'd love to sit and have an open discussion about the reasons why this choice had to be made, but frankly, I don't have the spoons for an entire conversation about it right now.
Living in this current economy is not easy for anyone, but especially those who are disabled and unable to find accommodating jobs. I am one such person. I've been fighting with insurance, doctors, etc, about trying to solve, or at least discover, the multitude of problems my body is going through. Every step in this process feels so hard, as if I'm walking backward on an escalator to the sky. There is no end in sight as of yet.
Needless to say, the healthcare in this country is sub-par. Too many of us are suffering and struggling to stay afloat. I'm trying my best to seek out any opportunity for work right now, but I live in an area where everyone works in a service position, or at least a job that requires physical exertion.
I applied to one position at a retail store, and the owner told me that her "worst nightmare" was to have a worker who just sat at the counter/register and checked people out. My worst nightmare is losing my ability to walk/swim. My worst nightmare is to end up broke and on the streets. But sure, that's fair to say to a disabled person. I really enjoyed that.
So yeah, I have to sell a tail of mine, and probably some of my crystals, so that one of MY worst nightmares, gets pushed a little bit further away. If anyone wants to help, I also have my cashapp in my bio. I'm really grateful to anyone who reads this, and even more so to anyone who can help.

Had an absolutely beautiful, balmy 75° here yesterday and could really feel the serotonin hitting my veins while I lounged on the beach. Something about the feeling that I'm getting ever closer to the days where I can swim again, makes me excited. Soon..

It's almost April, and you know what that means! Warmer weather! And that means more fun for a siren like me! Soon the water will be warming up enough for a dip, and then Summer is just in the distance! I can't wait to be swimming in the shallows again, and greeting all the new faces that come by each year.
