Whenever I meet someone new, maybe at a networking event or even when speaking to a family member or a friend about my work, the first question they often ask is "What is marketing?" Or they have an assumption that they know what it is, and ask "Oh so you phone people to get them to sign up to something?" or "Can you get me name plaque for my desk?". The answer to both of those questions is no.
Marketing is as broad as it is wide and involves a lot of organisation, planning and development before a marketing activity can take place.
