October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. Today, in particular, is Wave of Light, where people all around the globe are encouraged to light a candle at 7pm local time and leave it burning for at least one hour to remember all the babies that have died too soon.

When you’re a loss parent, the list is endless when it comes to the things you can’t do for your baby, the milestones you won’t get to witness and the growth you don’t get to see. It feels like the world has moved on without you and everything your future was meant to look like has been snatched away. This isn’t a new reality for us. We are reminded of this every single day. There is one thing we can do though - and that is to share our love and heartbreak simultaneously. We don’t need special days, weeks or months to talk about, share or acknowledge our baby but in recognition of awareness opportunities like this; it is for us to celebrate the ones in our hearts but no longer in our arms, in a more open space. It’s an opportunity for us to invite you into our grief, but also to our deep love for our babies.

Never underestimate just how much things like this mean to people who have lost children. 34 years is a long time. 34 years of heartache must be so heavy. 34 years ago there were limited resources available and little memory making options for the forever goodbyes. 34 years of love. 34 years later and now a special piece showing a family together for the first time, ever.

This is so, so special and I’m beyond honoured that I can provide the smallest amount of comfort to some hurting, heavy hearts, no matter the time it’s been.

To begin your order, I need to know
• The style you’d like
• Chosen banner (title)
• Whose hands you would like represented (gender, names and rough ages, particularly for the children)
• If you’re after a digital print (emailed to you) or a printed and framed copy (and if you require postage or local pickup from Singleton, NSW)

Then, I’ll get creating for you. I’ll send you a proof and you can then let me know whether you’re happy with the design, or if you’d like some changes made.

It’s as easy as that!

It’s become a hot topic of discussion in my messages with many of you. Most of the time, I just ask you to let me know what you’d like as your ‘banner’.

Truth is, it can be either- apostrophe or not (OR, it can be ‘Our Family’ to avoid any overthinking)
It all depends on your interpretation of these designs and whether you’re identifying your family as the plural, or indicating them as the possessive.

I’m happy to use whichever you’d prefer. That’s the benefit of customised 😉
