Challenges on the homestead... the other day, Mike went to help some neighbours with some stuck pick ups in the mud and while driving down the road. The good news is that he was able to get the trucks out, no problem. The bad news, this happened on the road on the way there. So, a new, or new to us, tire, and tube is in our near future because the sawmill can't load itself yet.

This is the epitome of our lives for the next few years. Just keep moving forward, one day at a time. The timelapse video we did last month is a testament to how much we did in one year. And it felt like we didn't get anything done. How much can we do in five years?

This weekend's adventures, salsa from my home grown tomatoes, and jalapeno peppers. (Poblanos are now in my future garden) and then I made stroganoff, with a moose roast. Mmmmm so delicious!

It always feels like we've not done anything, because the to do list is so long, but putting together this video and it really hits home how much we've actually started and finished this year.

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving 🦃🦃🦃 From the turkey we grew, the biggest one was almost 30lbs, and its for dinner. So thankful for family and friends and all of you! Technical difficulties with this weekend's video. I'll have it up asap!

Homegrown chicken barbequed by our awesome barbecue chef, and homegrown broccoli 🥦 salad. This dinner was about 50% homegrown. I didn't make the cheese or grow these baked potatoes(they're not ready yet) but this was very exciting to have grown this food ourselves.

1st batch of meat chickens are looking ready for the freezer. A few more days to a week and it'll be processing time. 🐔🐔
Due to a predator we lost 10 over 4 days unfortunately, so a totally of 17 will 🤞 make it to the freezer. Good news our electric fence seems to be doing its job keeping a second predator from getting to them.
