The Tale of Travel Radio

This is Megan Chapa, host of Travel Radio Podcast (travelradioonline.com). For the past seven years I’ve worked as a travel professional with an outstanding agency, Ticket To Travel. I am constantly immersed in travel news and working with incredibly interesting people. I coincidently built a collection of persons planning incredibly unique/niche types if travel or who are destination specialists.

I found myself in the same (enjoyable) travel conversation with friends and strangers again and again. The end of each conversation would be my acquaintance saying, “How come I didn't know that kind of travel/cruise/trip/location/all-inclusive existed? I would do/go there!) AND most of them didn’t realize that most travel planners don’t charge for their services.

Travel planning was a portable job that blended my event planning background and life constantly traveling as a participant in my husband’s military career. As a travel professional I’m able to participate in my clients happiest memories from honeymoons to family reunions. As long as I have my lap top and child care I can work.

As an avid podcast listener I have an ongoing conversation with a few podcast hosts I bounce ideas around with. Or, let’s be honest, offer unsolicited advice to... I told them about what I saw available in travel related podcasts. There were many podcasts on how to travel on a dime but not any that would connect you to a trusted travel professional. They encouraged me to go for it - launch a podcast of my own.
