We made it to our campground just outside of Cadillac, Michigan. We will be here for the next two weeks. Be praying for us the next couple weeks. We are so happy to see old friends. Be praying for the new relationships made and connections with churches while we are here. Be praying we are able to get some, if not all, of the repairs we need done.

We had some other set backs today that we are asking prayer for. Gods in control and I know the situation will work out one way or another but it would be great if it works out in favor, but wouldn’t it always? I’ll give more details once we know more, but for now, be praying, thanks!

We arrived at our campsite for the night only to find we didn’t really fit, our electric cable is about 20 feet too short and the site is really slanted and we don’t have access to our chocks due to a broken bay door that won’t open. So, we left and found a Cracker Barrel parking lot. I was really looking forward to a shower but it’s just not going to happen for a couple more days.

We have been tested and stretched in so many ways on this trip. Everyone, including the kids, have been great at staying calm and being flexible. I know we are all ready to be in one spot and resting. All the fun things we’ve had planned for this trip haven’t happened and we are regretting going the route we did. It’s okay though. We are getting there, slowly but surely.

Happy anniversary Darryl Wero! After 17 years we are handling stress and disappointment a lot better. That’s something worth celebrating 😂

Just finished at Discount Tire. The tire is not repairable. It will have to be replaced. We are going to continue on using the spare and figure out replacing the tire at some point. We can’t remember if the warranty covers road hazard or not. Going to call the place in Florida. It may have to wait till then to be replaced. Praying there are no other tire issues till we get there.

A huge thank you to Lee Charles for coming out and helping us last night and a big thank you to the Walmart and Discount Tire in Des Moines, Iowa for being kind and amazing to us while we were here.

In the midst of camp we had a major hail storm that resulted in minor damage to the RV. We also made a couple trips to Arizona. One trip was to switch an old server over to a new one at the home office and the other trip was to take a van of Supai campers part of their way back home in the Grand Canyon.

There was rarely a dull moment this summer 😁🧊☀️🌵🏜️

Pulled off in Des Moines, IA for bathrooms and found a flat tire. After 8pm on a Sunday. Brand new tires too 😞

Prayers please.

We are trying to hitch up but there is something wrong. Rory and Darryl are trying to troubleshoot.

Baby is screaming in her car seat and everyone is hungry. The plan was to get lunch in town but we are struggling to get out of here.

Please pray they figure this out and we can get on the road sooner rather than later. We are already a day and a half behind schedule.

We are in the midst of the last week of camp. We are at the part of the race where every part of us hurts. We are exhausted. We can see the finish line but every step is so heavy. We are determined to finish strong, knowing what our purpose here is.

Darryl got a call earlier today that after a series of storms, the internet at the business office was out. We troubleshooted what we could from camp but as the day went on, it became more and more apparent that we couldn’t fix it from where we were. We quickly packed some things this afternoon and left around 4:30. We made it to Phoenix a little over an hour ago.

We got a call on our way to Phoenix about something BIG that God was doing at camp. It completely disrupted our Thursday evening schedule. A camper I’ve been working with for the past year was crying and I tried everything I could do to calm her over the phone. She doesn’t really trust anybody but for some reason, God allowed me to break through her wall last summer and she trusts me. I was just thinking earlier today that I wished she could find others that she can trust, not because I didn’t want to be there for her but because I want her to see that she has an army of people around her who are willing to fight for her and pray for her. The internet outage could’ve happened yesterday or this weekend but it happened today. It was, emotionally, really hard not being there but through it all, this camper agreed, even asked for, her wrangler.

I don’t know the outcome of tonight. I did chat with Rory who had a couple campers stay with her this evening to work through things and she said it went really well and that progress is being made. I have 2 other names that were given to me to pray for tonight as well. I don’t know what the status of any of the individuals are, other than God is moving tonight. For privacy, I can’t name campers but on my heart are 6 of them and I’m asking that yall join me in praying for them and all the other campers that stayed behind tonight.

Pray also for Darryl and I. It’s 11pm and it seems we make a step forward and then it’s two steps back. It’s going to be a long night. We need to get this fixed tonight and get back to camp. I’m the back of our minds is not being able to be there to help at the camp. Pray that won’t be a distraction and we will think clearly and get this resolved in a one to get enough sleep before we have to head back tomorrow.

This is very late, and we apologize.

We have our largest camp of the summer (131 campers! 🙌🏼) so far, but we also have the smallest staff we’ve had all summer. To add to it, we have several staff who are out due to being sick this week.

This is the part of the summer where all who are able to, are stepping up and working together for the good of the ministry. No man gets left behind. We are committed to helping each other to finish this race strong. And we can’t do that without all of you, the prayer warriors, interceding on our behalf, praying for our strength, energy, health, motivation and perseverance. We sincerely appreciate everyone who is faithfully praying for the ministry of Broken Arrow Bible Ranch

We are beginning week 5 today. We are tired. We are being stretched, challenged and tested. We are in the midst of spiritual warfare. We are in the part of summer where we are beginning to see who is here for the right reasons. This is the point of the summer that, if we aren’t here for the right reasons, if we aren’t deep in the word and focused, then satan begins to find ways to distract us. Pray that every person on staff stays focused and grounded in the word and prayer this week. Pray that we won’t grow weary of doing good.

Update on Coulters follow up appointment yesterday. They are pretty certain the foot is not broke. They want him in the boot for at least two more weeks. They also want him doing some physical therapy exercises they gave him to do at home. They also said that if it’s still hurting too much to give his foot a rest. They blocked out a time schedule for a follow up and MRI in two weeks in case he doesn’t get better.

Continue to pray for him. He can put pressure on his foot with the boot on. With the boot off he still in pain and struggling.

Week 3 threw us some curve balls but we finished strong. We are tired. It’s a short week with a long weekend, which can be a good thing for our tired staff at this point in the summer. The danger comes when the temptation to relax our standard comes into play. Pray that we keep continue to exercise self control and not run the race aimlessly this week. Pray that we give 100% of ourselves to the campers this week.

It’s been a long day getting ready for our first teen week of the summer. We’ve got a good work team and great speakers. We have extra hands helping us out. We can’t help but feel God is preparing us for good things this week. BIG things. Please keep us in prayer as many are tired, many are coming back from being sick, some are getting sick. This is where we need to decide to rest in God when we can and make daily conscious decisions to persevere.

BABR 2024 is officially off to a start! The musicians have been practicing since yesterday and summer staff are starting to get settled in. Most staff will arrive tomorrow and orientation will officially kick off at 5:30 for dinner.

We had a busy but great weekend. Meetings, graduation celebrations, grilling, hanging out with friends, prep work in the kitchen and the chapel for camp, etc. Time seems to be flying by. We have summer staff starting to trickle in over the next couple days. Sunday officially starts orientation.

Please keep Broken Arrow Bible Ranch in your prayers this summer over the next nine weeks.
