We know there are a lot of people in our area who have some level of anxiety when it comes to severe storms and tornadoes. We've been working with behavioral health professionals to develop some tools to help those of us who are afraid of, stressed out by, or anxious about severe weather.
The link below is a website that's still a work in progress, but with May just around the corner, we wanted to share it for those who might be able to use it. Let us know if you think something like this is helpful, and if you have any thoughts or suggestions to make it better.
With severe potential on the horizon for the weekend the team will be out in the field to bring you up to the minute coverage of the storms. Be sure to give us a like and a follow and feel free to share us with your friends.

Tornado warning in branson mo
Good morning all! It's been pretty quiet around here lately and we're kind of sorry about that. We don't make the weather lol.. and we most certainly don't "hype-cast" so, it's a little tough to read through some of the more.. lets say dramatic.. chasers out there.
Today 5-18-17 is going to be a bit of a tricky one.. it certainly does seem to me that a pretty intense tornado event is possible. I'm not going to say likely just yet. I know the SPC is pretty excited about this one but, there's a few things missing in my mind. Not sure just yet. Could parts of OK and South/Central KS see a tornado today? yes, it most certainly IS possible but I would steer clear of "likely" right now. Nonetheless, I do think it is very likely that the areas in the graphics posted below can and will see some very large and severe thunderstorms that could possibly be quite tornadic. The questions is.. will they become the LARGE.. LONG TRACK TORNADOES everyone is forecasting?? I'm not sold just yet. So, please, please, please.. for today, prepare your self for the worst. If there is a tornado warning as always it DOES need to be taken seriously but, today especially.. there is a chance (all be it a small one) that it could be a very deadly, large, long track tornado.
Remember, staying safe means staying weather aware..
and as always.. sharing's caring;)

Here is a preliminary rainfall amount comparison between the flooding events of Dec 26-28, 2015 to the Apr 28-30, 2017 event. West Plains and Branson had more rainfall amounts for the April 2017 event compared to Dec 2015. Springfield, Rolla and Joplin had more rainfall amounts for the Dec 2015 event compared to Apr 2017.
Drivers are urged to remember that southwest Missouri has witnessed historic flooding over the past several days and that state, city and county road crews are working ‘round the clock to open roads as water recedes.

Ladies and Gentleman.. all hands on deck here. We hate the we've been quiet for so long. Mainly because we don't do hype-casting and fear monger posts to generate interest. We only post when necessary and this will DEF be one of those weeks. As some of you may already know, we are going to see many days of very high end severe weather in the Southern Mo, OK, AR, TX, KS area. If you aren't familiar with your emergency plan. Keep it tuned here as we will be updating often starting today. Remember, Don't be scared.. be weather aware...d?? :p
Yards are turning into lakes this afternoon if you can safely get some flooding photos for us please share on the page. Also let us know of any residential or low water crossings that are flooded so we can pass them along to local authorities
Not quite impassable yet but we can assure you flooding is GOING to happen by the end of the day please do not drive thru these low water crossings
Good morning folks we have a lull in the activity for now but plenty more in on the way. Still anticipating 2-4" locally with 5+" possible in some areas. Expect wave after wave of rain and embedded thunderstorms to impact the region all day today. Better chances of severe weather will be down in western Arkansas, however expect our flash flooding potential to continue to rise as the day goes on. Remember to turn around don't drown. Stay weather aware folks.
The rain is here! Video from Springfield, MO this morning at 10:15am. Much more rain to come, stay tuned and weather aware!
Amounts of 2"-4" and possibly higher are expected. We will be out covering the flooding as it happens. Stay weather aware
wouldn't it be great if we could predict.. down to the county within 6 hours maybe even more. a severe thunderstorm? I'm not saying we can do this with 100% accuracy, but I think I can get closer than most;) By 10am tomorrow morning.. I'm going to make my severe weather forecast and list specific counties. Who knows.. maybe if I get 80% or more right, everyone who hasn't shared the page take a minute and brag on us? ok.. here we go, team on 3.. 1,2,3....
Good evening FB friends, fans and whatnot. Tuesday night is starting to take a real shape that is encouraging for those of us who appreciate and enjoy severe weather. For those of you who don't.. you might need a hug or two and a bottle of your favorite wine tuesday evening/night. Details are to come and as most of you know, we do not do hype-casting or the fear mongering ratings the other guys do. As things lock in I'll make a detailed forecast but, as for now.. keep an eye out Tuesday - NE OK, NW AR, and especially SW MO. Looks like a major line of strong/severe storms and possible tornadoes embedded. We shall see..
Keep it tuned here.. and remember, ask yourself.. if you haven't shared our page and asked your friends and family to like us.. do you really love them? yes? LIKE AND SHARE!!!!!
