Today is all about the Ellie’s on this World Elephant Day!

Elephants are incredible sentient creatures. Their memory is phenomenal, they mourn their loved ones and grieve them for years after. They recognise elephants and humans, and it’s recently been discovered that elephants have names for each other, which has been determined by the different sounds they make when they greet each other. How amazing!

If you hear an elephant low growling, they’re happy. If you see their tail swinging, they’re happy. If their ears flap giddily, guess what? They’re happy!

On a volunteer trip, I got to go on walks with a matriarch, her daughter, and her adopted daughter. They had all been rescued, and if they hadn’t been, none of them would be alive today.

The matriarch had a calf who was only weeks old, when a baby elephant was found alone on the banks of a raging river, her herd had no choice but to abandon her. Kind souls rescued her, and because the matriarch had a baby and was producing milk, they introduced the new baby, and the rest is history - 16 years later, they’re a thriving family of three 😍

Elephants really are gentle giants, and family is everything to them. They’re at risk from loss of habitat (they need a lot of space and food to roam), poaching, unethical tourism, being forced to work, and of course the illegal ivory trade. No one needs a tusk except an elephant.

Today is all about raising awareness to save these precious animals. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to live in a world without them.

Saturday celebrated World Lion Day, a day to reflect on and cheer for the significance of lion conservation.

Wild lion populations have halved in the last four decades for a number of reasons, but mostly because of humans. Trophy hunting, canned hunting, pet cubbing, human-lion conflict, and the illegal pet trade play major roles in this.

Thanks to awareness and conservationists, lion numbers are slowly increasing, and prides can roam safely is protected natural areas. With more education, more can be done.

I got the opportunity to volunteer with lions in South Africa, and it was amazing and eye opening. Each lion and lioness had completely different personalities, an identifying feature so you could tell them apart, and all so utterly powerful and beautiful.

It’s time we did more for our prides.

Happy Global Tiger Day 🐅❤️

Today is about celebrating the endangered tiger, whilst also raising awareness about the threats they face. These include habitat loss, human-tiger conflict, poaching, and the illegal pet trade.

Countries around the world are working together to increase the tiger population but we’re still a long way from having a healthy number of wild tigers roaming free.

I got the amazing opportunity to volunteer with four tigers last year, and they are incredible animals! All four had very different personalities - a couple were affectionate, one was reserved, and the other was a feisty girl!

Two were handed over as cubs that had been kept as pets, and the other two had been used for television, and when they were no longer needed, were going to get sold to a zoo. Instead, a big cat reserve took them in.

Because they all spent too much time around humans as cubs and adolescents, they can’t be released into the wild, but they will spend the rest of their lives having all of their needs catered for, where they are safe and happy.

The efforts people and conservationists are putting to protect and secure a future for these big cats is phenomenal. We must keep going 🙌🏽

When online meet offline ✨

Yesterday, a handful of our online community met in person with most of us meeting each other for the first time. Usually, we just see each other on a zoom call 😂

The energy was amazing! We met, half of us did the Crystal Maze Experience and the other half did Junkyard Golf, both great for team building and a bit of friendly competition never hurt anyone 😉 then we went for a meal, and sat out in the sun building our wonderful connections with each other.

Every single person here decided they wanted to change their life, to better themselves and our beautiful planet.

They say it takes a village to raise a child. Well I’d say the same for starting your own business. Sure, you could do it alone, but why when you don’t have to?

Community is everything. The support and guidance you get with this business is phenomenal. Because we are all likeminded, it felt like talking to old friends, not people we met earlier that day. Finding your tribe feels like coming home ❤️

If you want to know more info about the business, the community, or how you can make a positive impact on the world, DM me ‘💙’

What makes you feel alive?

For me, it’s:
✨ pushing my body beyond its limits
✨ exploring somewhere new
✨ feeling the cold wind or the warm sun on my face
✨ being surrounded by souls who love and appreciate me
✨ taking in everything that nature offers
✨ achieving something I didn’t think I could
✨ feeling utterly content with who I am and excited about where I’m going

So tell me, what makes you feel alive?

Happy World Ocean Day!

As some of you may already know, I adore being by the ocean. It's calming, good for the soul, and so important to our daily lives.

I went scuba diving for the first time when I was 18, and it blew my mind seeing all the marine life I encountered (so did being able to breathe freely underwater 🤿).

It also made me so incredibly sad to see the amount of litter and plastic that pollutes our oceans.

That's why I am actively reducing my plastic consumption, making better choices everyday for non-toxic living, and helping others do the same.

I recently affiliated with a company that is passionate about the health of our planet and its inhabitants, which obviously include you and me but also the millions of species of wildlife that we get to share this planet with. When we're making healthier lifestyle choices, our oceans and wildlife benefit.

I don't want to live in an age where single-use plastic is acceptable or the key stomach contents of deceased whales 🐋 and turtles 🐢 do you?

Make a positive change for your life, but also for theirs.

DM me "ocean 🌊" if you want to know more about how I can help you make these changes and reduce your plastic consumption.

Good deed of the day 👇🏽

I saw this little bee crawling along the floor in the house, clearly exhausted. I took it out to the porch, gave it some sugary water and left it be (pun intended 😉).

I purposely left the door open so that if it felt more energised, it could easily get out. After about 20 minutes, I went to check on it and it was nowhere to be seen.

If you ever see a tired bee, please try and help it - either put it in some flowers and see if it feeds or offer it some sugary water.

We need bees, and sometimes they might need us 🐝

❌UK legends, I need your help!❌

This week (11th-17th March), GreenPeace has teamed up with Everyday Plastic for The Big Plastic Count.

You sign up as an individual, household or school, and make a record of every single piece of plastic you throw away. This is submitted online, and once the data has been gathered, you get your plastic footprint report and it tells you where the plastic ends up.

This initiative is to apply more pressure on the Government and companies to do more about plastic packaging use.

Did you know:
❌ The UK produces more plastic packaging per person than almost any other country in the world.

❌As of 2021, takeaway hot drink cups couldn’t be recycled in the UK because we don’t have the facilities to. Instead, they get shipped to Portugal.

❌ Almost 2 BILLION (2,000,000,000) pieces of plastic packaging are being thrown away EACH WEEK in the UK - only 12% gets recycled.

That means that approximately 1,760,000,000 pieces of plastic packaging end up anywhere in the world except recycling plants PER WEEK. And that’s just from the UK.

These stats are utterly disgusting. We need to do more, be more aware of our plastic footprint, and reduce our usage as much as possible.

Our oceans are drowning in plastic. It’s killing turtles, whales and an endless list of marine life. It’s skewing the ecosystems and killing wildlife on land too. It’s been found in the human food chain as well.

I recycle as much as I can, and in more recent years have tried to make smarter choices about what I buy and what material the products I purchase are encased in. Starting this today has made me realise just how much plastic we use and how we have such a long way to go to replace it with more suitable eco-friendly alternatives.

Do your bit. If you’re in the UK, please sign up. The more data The Big Plastic Count gathers, the more pressure can be applied to make a change.

✨ Happy International Women’s Day ✨

Today is all about celebrating the matriarchy, our fierce, brave and bold sisters, the motherhood and the sisterhood.

When I think of this, I think of elephants. Grandmothers, aunties, cousins and siblings all help with raising and protecting newborns and young ones. They rely on each other to survive and thrive.

Why wouldn’t we be any different?

If you don’t have women in your life that you can lean on when you need to, find your new tribe. A place where women want to help you grow, succeed, and live a life you love.

Today is for the Queen’s. Be gentle, caring, and delicate, but also be brave, bold, and fierce 💃🏻✨❤️

This.

Do you find yourself in survival mode around friends or colleagues? Are the people in your life adding value to it? Do they warm your soul and share your views and passions?

Too often, I have found myself in survival mode around people. A toxic work environment that’s full of misogyny, those who aren’t happy about their life but love to complain about it without making any changes, and people who don’t care about the things that I passionately do.

The latter is frustrating but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. They’re just not my people.

My kind of people are the ones who are kind, caring, considerate, compassionate, empathetic, thoughtful, and loving.

My kind of people are the ones who adore animals and want to help them and make their voices heard, who care about the environment and the human impact we have on it and want to help, the kind who give a s**t about single-use plastic, the impact of that on our oceans, and want to educate others on how they can reduce their own plastic use.

This is why I invested in a business opportunity that allows me to be surrounded by other likeminded legends who want to make a positive impact on our world.

Can you resonate with any of this? If so, DM me ‘SURVIVAL’ for more info on how you can be part of my tribe, where you will be welcomed with love and respect, and your voice will be heard.

I took this photo on a spontaneous trip I took because I needed to decompress from a work situation.

That’s not a life I want, one I need a break from.

I’d gone from working all the hours under the sun, working evenings and weekends because my workload was too much, to being made redundant with immediate effect. The company had gone under and no one was getting paid.

I’d already found a business opportunity that aligned with my whole being, but because of my work pressures I didn’t immediately take the leap.

Redundancy was the reminder I needed that even a good job in a growing industry doesn’t mean you’re safe as an employee.

So I invested in a business that promotes healthy, toxic-free living, reducing single use plastic, and the opportunity work from anywhere in the world building a future with time, location and financial freedom. What’s not to love about any of that?

I’m so excited for my future and what this business can do for me and others.

Take the leap, start the business, and put you first in your own life ❤️

So it’s about time I introduced myself…

I’m Alex, from the UK, and dreaming of far away lands 🏝️🌊🏔️🏜️

I’ve been in the corporate world since I left school, working my ar*e off to climb the career ladder, and feeling unfulfilled when I “made it”. And by that I mean overworked, under-appreciated and seriously burnt out.

I’ve always desired freedom to live life how I want, travelling all over our beautiful world, but didn’t know how to do it without a tonne of money (hence the career ladder climbing).

After a whirlwind rollercoaster over the last 18 months, I decided I’d had enough and put myself first.

LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO BE ANYTHING BUT HAPPY 😊

I’ve made moves recently to better my life and my future so I can achieve my goals (more on that later 😉).

My longing for travelling, helping animals and our planet, and living a sustainable and happy life that is entirely on my terms is no longer a dream. It’s now a goal, and I can’t bloody wait 😁

What do you see when you look into the eyes of an animal?

Do you only see a scaly, feathered or furry beast that Mother Nature created? Or do you see a soul of a sentient beauty that has a life story and deserves nothing but love, care and respect?

Whilst I am a sun worshipper and love nothing more than sunbathing on the beach, feeling the sand between my toes and going for a dip in a warm ocean, I genuinely love walking along the beach in the UK in winter (not in my bare feet though 😂). The waves are more dramatic, it’s usually really windy and oh so cold, but it is so refreshing.

I find it puts things into perspective. You’re a tiny dot next to a vast, deep, wonderful, powerful ocean. Those troubles weighing you down? Listen to the waves and let them wash away. The sky reflecting off the water as the tide is going out? Simple but so beautiful. Little birds playing and having a wash? A tiny creature enjoying and living in the moment.

Leave the beach lighter, calmer, and rosy-cheeked (and cleaner - it desperately needs our help!). Find joy in the little things, and be awestruck at the beauty of Mother Nature 🤍
