It’s time for the Jackolympics, the camp’s annual wood-splitting competition. This year I’m
more determined than ever to win because I’ve got skin in the game.
I fell in love with Gunner the first night I met him. Two and a half years later, I’m still deep in the friend zone. I can’t go another season without telling him how I feel.
The wager is: if I win, he has to go on a date with me.
The Uncut Wood is a 12,000 word SHORT STORY prequel to the Bear Camp series. It features friends-to-lovers and cabin-in-the-woods tropes, and an HEA with a kilt-wearing lumberjack.
It can be read as a standalone.
The story takes place in the mountains of North Georgia at Bear Mountain Lodge Men's Resort & Campground.
This clothing-optional campground is a fictional amalgamation of the men’s campgrounds I’ve frequented for the past twenty-five years.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, 2020 is the first year I couldn’t attend Bear Camp in real life. With this series, I‘m visiting as a mental traveler instead, and I’m taking you with me.

Interviews are forever and for many of our featured authors, this is their first experience doing an in-depth recorded conversation of this kind. Unless you're a podcast host, it's not common and a little nerve-wracking under the best of circumstances.
I am admittedly struggling to keep my other weekly show (Shift Your Spirits) up and running — which is my day job and main source of income!
I am beating myself UP so badly. I am normally a driven happy workaholic … I’m trying to find a way to let it be okay that I’m not producing, producing, producing …
And then I’m feeling guilty because I feel so anxious, simply because of the collective vibe.
I have found my way back into writing fiction each day, and even though it’s slow going, I’m doing the only work I can do — which is thankfully something I really love!
I hope to return to new episodes in the near future, when things have shifted.
Patreon will continue to be paused until there is new content.
