After more than twenty great years of hosting ATOS’ Theatre Organ Radio, Steve Worthington has stepped away from the console. I want to thank him for all of the time and effort he has put into it over these past several years. ATOS Radio, and the ATOS Radio page is now ”under new management” so that they will both continue on long into the future. Keep on listening, and keep on sending messages! We would love to hear from you!
ATOS Radio is being handled now by William Gellhaus.
ATOS Radio’s page is being handled now by Dave Calendine.
Thanks again, Steve, for all you did and still do for ATOS!

As I have previously mentioned I’ll be retiring from producing and sponsoring ATOS Radio this month. While I’ll still be assisting with issues as long as the current format continues I’ll be handing over day to day running to Bill Gelhaus ATOS Director and ATOS will be financing the operation moving forward. Many of you may have seen the article in the current journal questioning the Future of the stream. Bill has some ideas and it will be good to get a fresh look at the platform. I will be shuttling down this page in the near future. I wish everyone well in their online listening and want to thank each one of your for the support over the years.

Steve Worthington.

Apologies we had a glitch with the broadcast server and I was in the wilds of Northern Minnesota with no internet access. Should be back on the air!

We don’t see too many New CD’s these days. This one allows the great artistry of Ken Double to show off the magnificent sounds of Mighty Mo after the recent console rebuild and other work. The awesome recording by Tim Stephens captures all the nuances of the Moller in spectacular detail, while preserving that big in Theatre sound. Now uploaded to the play list!

We are having some networking issues that are causing glitches in the stream. I’m trying to track down the problem- please bear with us while we try to fix things.

Sorry off the air this morning and I have no clue as to why the Broadcast software just “hung”! Thanks to those who reported it! Our monitor didn’t as it saw a stream - just nothing in it!

Back up now

Thanks to Bill Coale for two recent Banda Releases. Will try to get them uploaded today!

Was recently contacted by David Lee - either a blast from the past or a new name to some. David was a Staff Organist in 70’s-80’s at a number of north west coast Pizza Joints - Portland Organ Grinder, Big Bob’s and Uncle Milt’s. He sent a couple of CD’s. A digital remaster of his Portland LP and a selection of “live” tracks (you can smell the pizza). Uploaded to the playlist this morning. David is playing Theatre Organ again. Here is a link to him re-uniting with the Organ Grinder Console at Shanklin Music Hall: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iB1a2PLNX60

Going to schedule the Christmas/Holiday music into the rotation this weekend. As usual we will start with occasional tracks, increasing the frequency before a full Christmas onslaught over Christmas Eve and Day!

Not a lot of new Christmas material this year, but we will have some additions not previously heard.

Happy Christmas/Hanukkah/Holidays to you whatever holiday you celebrate.

It seems occasionally I get asked the question- my request looked to be next in line but something else “sneaked” in before it! Well the algorithm sucks! When you request something it pushes it up into the queue so it should play after the next 1 or two tracks depending on timing. Timing is everything and... If someone else requests something immediately after you do.... it’s possible that it sneaks ahead of your request as your request is now just another track in the queue.

Hope this is not too confusing!

Been catching up on ripping/uploading some CD’s that have been sitting on my desk - quite a mixture. Hope you enjoy some new tracks - also planning on uploading some newly digitized LP’s soon!

Further to my recent post about the mp3 streams not playing in the latest version of Safari on the iPhone, I’ve had some emails about it not working on macs either. Seems the mime type we were using in the player is no longer supported on Safari.

I have changed the player code to support a newer codec and all seems to be fixed again.

Please let me know if Mac/iOS users are still having issues. And if anyone using a non Mac platform has issues too!

Thanks

Thanks to ATOS for the recognition. As much as I enjoy doing this it’s great that people feel it’s all worthwhile!

Apologies for the “Radio Silence” this morning. Should be back up now!

Getting reports that since the latest update to iOS the player on the main page is not working. (I’m having same issue). I’m going to investigate more but if you have an issue the AAC player works fine on my iPhone running the latest version of iOS
