FINALLY was able to stop by .cafe today for lunch. I’m so glad I found out about this lil cafe via .tucson ! Sgt. Kernel’s is veteran-owned, and serves incredible sandwiches, desserts, and coffee. I had a Veggie Sandwich on wheat and an Iced Mocha. It was so good and the veggies were FRESH! I haven’t had the popcorn yet, but I’ve heard great things. They are open Tuesday-Friday from 8am-2pm. Go....Go...GO!!! You won’t be disappointed!

is still having their special! Can’t beat a 16oz house coffee with cream and sweetener for a $1!! If you’re local, I highly recommend taking advantage of it! Some of the best coffee in town!

We hiked to The Birthing Cave this past Monday. Two miles round trip. The hike was fairly easy, but of course got harder on the way up to the cave. I wanted to get into the “womb” in the very back (to get the iconic photo of the cave and view), and tried, but steep ledges, not enough grip rocks, slick rocks, fear of heights, etc... deterred me from doing so. But, the experience was amazing! It also helped meeting some friendly folks along the trail.

Had a blast today at the pop-up market put together by and . It was great seeing my community of local makers and resellers. Here is my lil haul: vintage jacket from , Lavender Sugar by , soap dish from that I got specifically for my facial soap from the x collab, and Creosote Rosemary Cream from Sonoran Rosie as well.

Thank you for the wonderful ‘local’ takeout last night. I had the Veggie Quesadillas and the Mr had the 3 Tacos- Carne Asada, Chicken Mole, and Carne con Chili. Generous portions and friendly service!

Finally stopped by to get dinner takeout today. Barrio Charro is the brainchild of Don Guerra of and Chef Carlotta Flores of Si Charro! Restaurant Group. Pictured is the Poet’s Plant (rosemary pressed avocado, charred zucchini and roasted veggies, fresh arugula and balsamic reduction) with housemade BBQ Chips. Not pictured is the Agave Mint Green Tea via . Of course the food did not disappoint, and the tea was incredibly refreshing. Looking forward to going back and continuing to try the menu.

If you haven’t been yet, you have got to check out Cinnamon Rolls with buttercream icing. This is becoming a weekend to-do for this gal! Owners Clint and his wife, Tami are so sweet! They also have a variety of breakfast bowls to choose from. They are open 8am-2pm.

Ohhhhh ... You made THE BEST French Dip sandwich (minus the meat) I’ve ever had today (at the Campbell/Grant location). I did have the au jus and subbed fries with Prep’s Potatoes (Pro-Tip: dip potatoes in sour cream and ketchup😁).... The toasted housemade bread with the veggies and melted cheese... my goodness ... There was so much flavor! P&P- Please give the cooks there my highest compliments🤗

Great news, vegans of Tucson! Starting today, has launched a trio of vegan sandwiches and some desserts . They held a very intimate menu launch party last night, and I had the chance to preview the menu and meet fellow vegan foodies. (Swipe through photos)

🌿3rd slide- Sandwich with rice paper “vegan bacon”, lettuce, avocado, tomato, and vegan Mayo on a toasted sourdough bun.

🌿4th slide- Sandwich with baked kalamata- and - dill falafel patty, hummus, cucumber, tomato, and housemade vegan mayo on a toasted sourdough bun.

🌿5th slide- Sandwich with a baked falafel patty, green chili, avocado, dash of spicy shaken seasoning, and sriracha vegan mayo on toasted sourdough bun.

🌿6th slide- Mini chocolate snickerdoodle cookie pie with vanilla buttercream. Mini cupcake with vegan pumpkin spice buttercream. Painted cookie with vegan royal icing.

Everything was fantastic! My top two sandwiches are the “BLT”, and “Spicy Falafel Sriracha” as I felt they had the most flavor. Did I mention they launch today? 😉

I really want to give a HUGE shoutout to .... This is the coolest litter pickup volunteer crew in Tucson! I joined them this past Monday, as we cleaned up the wash on the southern part of ... Over 15 bags of trash and one couch, ya’ll... I would LOVE to see other neighborhood trash pickup groups form (as this group focuses on the Rillito area. Not only are we helping our community, but it’s a great and rewarding exercise. Swipe to see pictures of the ‘before’. I believe has pictures of the ‘after.’

Hey Everyone! I’ve teamed up with the amazing to help the lovely .arizona . Stop by Prest (corner of Tucson Blvd/22nd St) TOMORROW (Tuesday) to help raise funds for Verna (window and roof repairs, and funds for supplies) who is facing hard times after her Monument Valley AirBnB had to shut down due to the pandemic. I had the pleasure of staying at one of her hogans pre-Covid, and it was such an incredible experience. I just want to be able to help in any way, and I wanted to help rally the community to get involved. Please come and show your support tomorrow and please feel free to share/spread the word!
