Approximately 1.7 lakh taxpayers have taken advantage of the rebate scheme and paid their annual property taxes, resulting in a total rebate amount of Rs 4 crore so far.

NASHIK: In Nashik city this year, the local government has successfully gathered Rs 75 crore in property tax over 75 days, from April 1 to June 14. This amount represents a 25% increase compared to the property tax collected during the same period in the previous fiscal year.

Officials from the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) attribute this rise in property tax collection to implementing a rebate scheme for prompt taxpayers, ranging from 6% to 8%. By providing this incentive, the civic body has encouraged more property owners to pay their taxes on time.

NMC officials are optimistic about collecting an additional Rs 15 crore over the next 15 days. If achieved, this would bring the total property tax collection to a significant milestone of Rs 90 crore.
