useRef hook in React: this is a react hook that allow one to access a particular dom element (e.g h1, div, p, input etc) and do something with it. In a simple sense, useRef is the equivalent of 'document.querySelector()' method. A simple example is:

Explanation: the useRef is an object that ja a property called 'current', to get the target dom, call the 'element.current', which points to that dom as of that exact time, then do something with it. This is handy when handling forms with less inputs in react.
Always remember that, when ever you are getting any value from the dom, it comes as 'string', in order to perform calculations, increment or decrement it, one will have to change it from a string to a number.
