About Us(Me)
When we say about us, we really mean “about me” because this is a one man show! I’m Randall Lawrence and I am the sole proprietor of Cranival Studios.
Cranival started as an inside joke and a podcast named “Carnivale”. After a few months of running this show with my close friends Luke Messimer and Sharon Rocksharoney (not his real name), comedians in the Portland area began to gravitate towards my low prices and flexible schedule.
From there, I began and then a year later ended the Rivercity Podcast Federation with Shane Hosea (The Hosea Hustle, P.L.O.W., Dumb Dumbs & Dragons, etc), Chris Khatami (Reboot, Reuse, Recycle, Spec Script & Bracket Royale) and Caitlin Weierhauser (Room of Requirement 237, Portland’s Funniest Person 2017). At one point, I had 9 shows personally run by myself which then dwindled to the current 6 listed on this site.
After moving from Cranival Studios version 0.5, I built and assembled the current iteration of Cranival Studios. Cranival offers a fantastic low-cost recording space for podcasters, documentary or feature film makers and more. I also offer mobile podcast recording as well as live show recording. Very recently I entered the acoustic treatment space with my customizable sound panels that I build myself by hand.
