My spoiler-filled review of the latest Peacock flick. Based on the hit show Monk, Peacock decided to put Monk back on tv in his own movie. With appearances by the original cast - except the much beloved Sherona, they came back to help Monk solve one more case.

Woods himself designed the course and has done a superb job of transforming the long and serious game of golf into a fun and quick experience for the whole family.

Here is where it gets interesting. The course has technology that keeps the score for you and sends the information right to its app on your phone through Pop Stroke’s iPutt golf balls. This technology is bad news for you cheaters out there who like to shave strokes against your unwitting opponents. There’s no room for Mulligans at PopStroke!

Al Pessin is a journalist who has spent forty years covering major news stories. Fifteen of those were spent overseas as a foreign correspondent. His stories have been featured in the L.A. Times, The Hill, Defense One, Politico, and Voice of America, among others.

This week on Between the Covers, we feature international award-winning author, David Wind.

Besides being a prolific writer, David is the current Florida Chapter President of the Mystery Writers of America. The Florida Chapter is holding its famous annual crime-writing conference next month. That is known as SleuthFest, and hundreds of authors come from all over the country to converge in Deerfield Beach and learn from experts in the Mystery and Thriller genres as well as real forensic and law enforcement professionals. We will have more about SleuthFest at the end of this article.

He is such a prolific writer that we had to place his bibliography at the end of this article! David has published 40 novels in several genres.

This week on Between the Covers, we feature Sarah Andre, Author and SWFRW (Southwest Florida Romance Writer) Conference Coordinator.

Sarah has written four novels. They are romantic suspense novels: Locked, Loaded and Lying, (a stand-alone murder mystery), and her Damaged Heroes series; Tall, Dark and Damaged (Book One), Capturing the Queen (Book Two), and A Savage Trick (Book Three).

When I asked Sarah about current projects, she informed me that she is taking a brief hiatus but it is for an event designed to help other writers.

This week on Between the Covers, we feature Ohio native, Molly Jebber.

Molly has written eight books. They are Keepsake Pocket Quilt Series – Change of Heart, Grace’s Forgiveness, Two Suitors for Anna, Bakery Series – Liza’s Second Chance, Ellie’s Redemption, Hannah’s Courage (Releases Jan. 28, 2020), Amish Christmas Sleigh, and Amish Brides.

Molly’s lifelong dream of becoming a writer came to fruition, much to the surprise of some of her family members.

“I never told my parents, brother or friends growing up that I wanted to write. It wasn’t until 2014 when I told my husband, Ed. And he was so supportive and encouraging. I love to write stories and interact with readers!”

This week on Between the Covers, we feature the married writing team of John and Nancy Petralia.

The couple has penned two books with a third one on the way. They include: Not in a Tuscan Villa, Looking for Garibaldi, and they are working on The Forged Caravaggio now.

John and Nancy did not set out to become authors but decided to take a chance at writing a book to appease friends and family who were enthralled by their travel stories.

“In 2009 and 2010, we lived in Italy. When we returned home to NJ, our friends had so many questions, we wrote a book.”

These world-travelers are self-described “Adventuresome seniors unwilling to go gentle into that good night. We like doing things that make us feel uncomfortable. It keeps us young and satisfies our curiosity.”

The writing duo shared the sense of culture from their upbringings and how it shaped them into the people they are today.

“Born on Broad Street, not far from where the Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, and Sixers ply their trades, a graduate of three local schools, it’s hard to imagine anyone more Philadelphian than John.

This week on Between the Covers, we feature New Jersey native, Connie Hope.

She has authored three books; two cookbooks and a fun mystery novel: In Addition to the Entrée, Soups, and Stews…Comfort by the Spoonful, and The Bonnie Neuk Tea Room: Friends and Uninvited Guests (Ghosts).

Writing a cookbook is a stretch from fiction. I asked Connie how she got interested in cooking.

“My first experience cooking was on a chair next to my mother. Then I learned to add spices and herbs, create appetizers, mix fruits and vegetables to make salsas and chutneys, use fruits to make jellies, jams, and experiment with all types of ingredients to make homemade soups.”

Since cooking for Connie is a personal thing that encompasses some precious childhood memories, she keeps her cookbooks personal too by adding a special touch.

“Cookbooks are a different type of writing style. I put the recipe down then I add information where I got the recipe, who from and other information.” ---

This week on Between the Covers, we feature Michigan native, Dr. Carol Kennedy.

Dr. Kennedy is a multiple award-winning author and a prolific motivational speaker. We are excited to announce that her latest book, Bite-Size Chocolate for the Soul, will be available later this month.

It is a devotional with conversation-starters – complete with bulleted and numbered talking points for group discussions. Phil Butera grew up in Buffalo, New York. He attended Gannon College in Erie, Pennsylvania then went on to serve in the US Navy. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada.

Phil took Post-Grad courses in Psychology and Creative writing in both countries. An extensive traveler in both the United States and Canada, he is a former resident of; Hawaii, California, Virginia, British Columbia, and Ontario.

Bob has an interesting combination of skills. Paramedic. Firefighter. Air-sea rescue diver. Pastor. Chaplain. Published writer. He’s now retired and lives in Cape Coral, Florida with wife, Susan, and their three-legged Chihuahua rescue dog, Maya. He volunteers as a chaplain for the Cape Coral Fire Department.

Janice, a life-long educator in the field of special education and administration, is also a professional writer, having written a book about teaching writing to children with learning disabilities during her teaching years. Retired now, she writes, edits, blogs, maintains a website and plays mahjong in her free time. She splits her time between New Jersey and Florida.
