Good morning beloved,
This will not be a short read, and I understand if it sits here unread. While I'm writing to the public, this word is first for myself.
Giving all honor to my Creator, I'm grateful for the grace and mercy that has kept me. Amen
Yesterday, in the midst of a beautiful 97° day the sky darkened, suddenly. I watched as the wind picked up and the clouds continued to form and darken. I watched as the rains began, and listened to the distant thunder.
Has the bottom ever suddenly fallen out of your life? It has for me more times than I care to recall.
This morning, at first light as the dark clouds moved on, I went to check and tend to the garden.
It did not escape my attention, the plants as I have, survived.
Beloved, the storm passed.
I've got some clean up to get done, some purning to tend to yet, the storm passed and the fruits and veggies and myself are still in tact and standing.
When the bottom suddenly falls out of my life (a storm hits). My practice has always been to lay down. Literally, I lay down not solely because I was raised to be quiet and"let the Lord work" during storms. But because I learned to understand and appreciate that joy comes in the morning. I've learned that the sudden job loss, the breakup, the loss of a friendship, the sudden debt, expense or deadline will not be the end of me. It shall pass and I'll understand it (maybe) better by and by.
When the storms of life approach without warning or notice but suddenly are upon you, beloved I encourage you to stand on your faith, knowledge and belief that it shall pass. And when it does, continue to give thanks for the rains that give our roots life. Be grateful for the clean up, be grateful for the pruning, be grateful for the storms and the plants that have taken root and remain in place.
Be blessed and be a blessing
