President Hakainde Hichilema writes:
Fellow citizens ,
This morning in Shenzhen City, southern China, we began our programme by paying tribute to former Chinese President, His Excellency Deng Xiaoping. We laid a wreath at the imposing six-meter high statue, that immortalises this visionary leader.

Accompanied by First Lady Madam Mutinta Hichilema, were greatly inspired by the story of President Deng who is widely credited for China's massive economic transformation that started in the 1970s.

At the time China was largely closed to the outside world, President Deng implemented an open door policy to foreign businesses that wanted to set up in China.

The reforms carried out by Deng and his allies gradually led China away from a planned economy and Maoist ideologies, opened it up to foreign investments and technology, and introduced its vast labour force to the global market. These reforms elevated over 800million people from poverty, turning China into one of the world's largest economies now.

Following the decision by the FIFA Players’ Status Committee to find in favour of former Chipolopolo coach Aljosa Asanovic in a matter he reported to Zurich, FAZ wishes to update its membership and stakeholders.
FAZ General Secretary Reuben Kamanga says FIFA has notified the association of the decision of the matter presided over by a single judge.
“We wish to confirm that FIFA has informed FAZ of its decision to award damages to Mr Aljosa Asanovic who reported the association to FIFA after having abandoned his post in unclear circumstances,” says Kamanga.
“FAZ duly submitted its records of having paid Mr. Asanovic his dues up to the point of his desertion. We attached all the evidence of payment in our counter claim, and it remains our hope that justice will be done. Mr Asanovic was appointed under Zambian laws and was deemed to have deserted after having absconded work for more than 10 days in line with the law. Kamanga says FAZ was engaging FIFA on the way forward to ensure that justice prevails on the matter.
“FAZ has engaged FIFA on the matter will be exploring various ways to ensure that the decision is reversed as FAZ had met all its obligations to Mr Asanovic,” says Kamanga.
FAZ appointed Asanovic on 18 January 2022, but the Croatian unilaterally terminated his contract on September 22, 2022, after having abandoned his station on September 30 in the aftermath of Zambia losing 1-0 at home to Mozambique to be dumped out of the African Nations Championship campaign.
