One of the best live performances I’ve ever seen was in the video below. The artist’s name is Ifanye pronounced E-Fawn-E (hope I got the spelling correct). This took place at the Royal Peacock, an historic venue in Atlanta on the historic Auburn Avenue in or around 1999/2000. Ifanye had star power as you will see in the video, was an up, and coming artist on the RaRa entertainment label. Ifanye, if you see this video, we would love to know what you are up to these days. Watch how he starts off with one song then the Royal Peacock spirit of past legendary performers touches his soul, and he switches to another song. A classic performance and a World Wide Web premiere! Enjoy!
More on the Historic Royal Peacock below.
From The Atlanta History Center
“Built Circa 1920
Originally known as the Top Hat Club, the Royal Peacock first opened its doors as a nightclub at 186 1/2 Auburn Ave. in the late 1930s. The club showcased acts such as Cab Calloway and Louis Armstrong. In 1949, former circus performer Carrie Cunningham purchased the building, redecorated it with Egyptian revival decor, and renamed it the Royal Peacock. With a who’s who of performers and patrons – from Ray Charles, Little Richard, and Marvin Gaye to Muhammad Ali and Martin Luther King Jr. — the Royal Peacock became one of the places black Atlantans went to see and be seen. Though the club’s popularity has diminished, it was featured prominently in rap group Outkast’s 1998 video for the song, “Rosa Parks.” Today, the building houses a Caribbean-style nightclub that features reggae, hip-hop, and dancehall music.”

Got familiar with this band on Instagram. I lucked into seeing them when they came to Georgia to perform in the Wednesday wind down concerts. They are from the UK and play the dopest Hip Hop and R&B covers. They performed through the rain and i managed to get some decent footage despite the rain and umbrellas in view. They go by the name, OMA. Enjoy.
Warm it up Kane!!! The energy was electric!!!
