CP MOHAMMED USAINI GUMEL, FIPMA, psc RECEIVED THE NEWLY APPOINTED MANAGING DIRECTOR, KANO ROAD AND TRAFFIC AGENCY (KAROTA) ON COURTESY VISIT

On 21st July 2023, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, FIPMA, psc received the newly appointed Managing Director of Kano Road and Traffic Agency (KAROTA), Engr. Faisal Mahmud on Courtesy Visit.

2. In his dual remark, the Managing Director of Kano Road and Traffic Agency (KAROTA), Engr. Faisal Mahmud stated that, “We thank God Almighty for giving us the opportunity to be at the Headquarters of Kano State Police Command. Our coming here to pay you a courtesy visit is a must, because without the Police we can not succeed in achieving our mandate. This is my first courtesy visit because of the importance of the Police to us. Whoever is in Kano must appreciate the effort of the Police in crime fighting. I must also commend the State Commissioner of Police for ensuring peace prevail in the State. We really appreciate the support my office receives from the Police. We will continue to seek your support, guidance and cooperation. Thank you for warmest receiving the CP, sir.” Said MD KAROTA.

In his response, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, FIPMA, psc stated that “I welcome you to Bompai, the Headquarters of Kano State Police Command, congratulate you on your appointment and thank you for finding time for the visit to the officers of the Command. Also, note that the police command is aware of the enormous responsibility Kano Road and Traffic Agency (KAROTA) is playing in complementing the effort of the Police in ensuring smooth traffic flow and road crash reduction. On 26th of July 2023, the Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, FIPMA, psc received the newly posted Comptroller of Immigration Service, Kano State Command, CIS AD Bagari and the newly elected exco members of Correspondents' Chapel, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), led by the Chairman, Alhaji Aminu Garko on courtesy visits.

2. In his remark, the Comptroller of Immigration Service, Kano State Command stated that, "I'm delighted for this familiarization visit to your office. It is a tradition for any newly posted Comptroller to go round and familiarize himself and seek synergy with other sister security agencies. This visit is to strengthen the already existing cordial relationship between our organizations. Furthermore, we heard about your enthusiasm as well as your commendable achievements in fighting emerging crimes despite the daunting challenges in the State. Additionally, we are ready to cooperate with the Command in terms of intelligence sharing, operations, and training in order to secure the State effectively. DEVELOPING STORIES ON THE TRAIL OF BOUNTIFUL REPENTANT THUGS IN KANO

One of the three notorious wanted criminals named Nasiru Abdullahi, popularly known as Chile Maidoki of Layin Falwaya Kurna Makabarta Quarters Kano has surrendered himself to the Office of the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, FIPMA, psc upon hearing the declaration of N100,000:00 bounty for his arrest. This brings a total of 100 documented and profiled Repentant Criminals being that so far surrendered themselves to the police command.

2. During the hide and seek regime the said repentant terror Chile Maidoki said to the police that he used to sleep at burial ground yard in Kano City just to evade detection by security personnel. He is now appealing to the Police and the good people of the State to forgive him, that he has repented and is now ready to work with the Police to promote sustainable peace and development in the State. He is therefore not to be arrested by the Police or stigmatised by members of the public. The remaining two with N100,000:00 bounty on each for clues or information leading to their arrests. They are: Abba Burakita of Dorayi Quarters and Hantar Daba of Kwanar Disu.

3. Prospectus beneficiaries of these bounties with credible information on their whereabouts are required to contact the nearest Police Station.

MORE ARRESTS AND EXHIBITS RECOVERIES AS ANOTHER GANG SUSPECTED NOTORIOUS DRUG CURRIER TRANSITING KANO STATE WAS SMASHED, THREE GANG MEMBERS ARRESTED AND A TOTAL OF 61 BAGS OF COMPRESSED DRIED LEAVES SUSPECTED TO BE INDIAN H**P WERE RECOVERED BY POLICE PATROLS TEAM AT KWANAR DANGORA KANO STATE ENTRY POINT

... Two Sets each of Military Uniforms, Red Berets, Sets of Shin Guards and a Boot also Recovered

Recalled that on the 18th July 2023 at about 2000hrs (8pm), a team of Policemen while on Highway Surveillance Patrol along Kwanar Dangora, Kiru LGA, specifically between Kaduna to Kano Border town, intercepted a Golf series 3 model Motor Vehicle on reasonable suspicion of the vehicle being recklessly driven. In a quick reaction by the team, the driver was pursued while trying to escape arrest, forced lost driving control of the Motor Vehicle and the Vehicle eventually somersaulted. The driver was then pursued and arrested with seven (7) bags of dried leaves suspected to be Indian h**p recovered. The Commissioner of Police ordered additional vigilance for more arrests and conducting discreet investigations to get to the supply chain.

2. Consequent upon compliance with the directive, sustained follow-up was intensified coupled with community partnership and intelligence-led operations including technical support. Positive results of these police actions led to the results of success on 4th August 2023 where the principal suspect, one Ladi Peter, 'f', 47 years old, of Agwa Kudandan Nassarawa, in Chikun LGA of Kaduna State was arrested in her residence. A total of sixty-one (61) bags of compressed Dried Leaves Suspected to be Indian H**p were recovered from her. Other exhibits include: Two sets each of Military Uniforms, red berets, sets of shin guards and a desert boat were found in her possession.
