Our latest episode is a delightful interview with with Barry and his daughter Emma, highlighting Emma's extraordinary journey as the world's youngest concert photographer. At just eight years old, Emma has already photographed several prominent bands and artists, thanks to the mentorship of her father Barry, a seasoned freelance photographer who began his career in 1997, working for JAM TV. Barry has a rich history in photography, contributing to notable publications such as the Rolling Stone Network, Rollingstone.com, Forbes magazine and wire services like Getty Images and the Associated Press. The podcast delves into Emma's first concert experiences, her progression from using a Polaroid to a professional-grade camera, and the unique souvenirs she's collected along the way, showcasing her growing passion for music and photography. Emma and Barry also provide listeners with some tips for photographing your favorite bands.

CHARLES: When we saw Pink Floyd that night I was twelve years old. The person who ripped our tickets in half at the turnstyle that night returned each of the other’s half, making for a whole ticket when joined together. The left stub is mine, the right one is my mom’s. To me, these two ticket stubs symbolize my mom’s dedication to my love for seeing live music. That is why I call her a "Concert Mom."

Visit the Ticket Stub Museum at https://www.SeeingThemLive.com. If you have a ticket stub you would like to add to our museum, use the contact form on our website to let us know about your stub story.

About Seeing Them Live:

Live music serves as a cultural mirror, reflecting the social, political, and economic conditions of its time. From iconic gatherings like Woodstock to the transformative Live Aid concerts, these performances have shaped our world and left a lasting impact on music enthusiasts.

Our guests recount vivid recollections of their first, worst, and best concert experiences. Through their personal narratives, our objective is to provide our listeners with an immersive experience that captures the vibrant energy and exhilaration of attending live performances.

Live music provides something in short supply today – authenticity. In a live setting, there are no retakes, vocal enhancers, or edits—what unfolds live, truly happens. Even if you missed the chance to witness Woodstock or find it challenging to afford a Taylor Swift concert, our podcast offers you the opportunity to hear firsthand accounts from those who experienced those and similar shows.

While our primary focus lies in the pop/rock genre from 1960 to the present, we warmly welcome captivating stories from concertgoers of any musical genre. If you believe you have a remarkable live music story to share, we invite you to complete the questionnaire on our website for a chance to be featured as a guest on our podcast. While you are there, check out our Ticket Stub Museum and links to resources such as performance set lists and music museums.

Everyone has a concert story and hopefully, one day we’ll hear yours.
