major has been waiting months for his forever home and Ellie has been waiting a couple of weeks and I have not gotten a single viable inquiry for either 😫. Please help me help these guys find homes and time for the holidays.

Puppies are loads and loads of fun (I’m lying. They are complete as****es and that’s why they’re so cute. 😂😂) Major and Ellie are both potty trained imagine how great it will be not trying to potty train a puppy in the snow take it from me. I’ve done it two years in a row. 😂😂

If I could take them, both I would, but I am at the max capacity of what I can afford, and what my neighbors will not murder me for having.

Major is a seven year old shepherd mix, neutered and up-to-date on all vaccines. Great with kids and cats, he does not have much experience with other dogs so I would say he likely need to be an only dog however, I am happy to dog test and work with you on proper introductions to see if maybe he would do well with a buddy. He loves walks and cuddling with his humans and his favorite game is tug-of-war.

Ellie is two spayed and up-to-date on her vaccines. I suspect that she is a greyhound cattle dog cross. She is a current client of mine so I know her well she’s great with kids and cats and other dogs although I will say that she is very high energy and probably would not do well in a home with small children as she is likely to knock them over. She is super friendly and very sweet and will do anything for a piece of cheese. Ellie needs to go to an active home with yard access.

A quick note about “free” pets and why rehoming fees exist.

Pets are a massive physical and financial responsibility and a free pet is never free.

90% of the dogs who come through here have never seen a vet. I WILL NOT adopt out a dog who has not been properly vetted. The cost of a veterinary appointment for a dog who has never seen a vet? 350$ minimum. That does not include the cost of spay and neuter when doing so id age appropriate.

All fees charged are designed to ensure pets can get the medical care they need and deserve. They are not to help a former owner “recoup their loss”. And they Are not so the rehoming service or rescue can profit. When you pay an adoption fee to Karas k9s or any other rescue you are ensuring that rescue can continue to operate and provide animals with the care they deserve. Usually adoption fees are equal to, or less than what you personally would be paying out of pocket for your new pets vet visit.

Free pets are never free.

🚨🚨Major needs a home 🚨🚨

Major is about 7 years old and definately a peoples pup. He’s very sweet and great with kids and babies. He loves to be with his people, but is not fond of other dogs..
good with cats and loves to play tug and be close to his humans

His owners have fallen on hard times and can no longer keep him. Please share so we can help find this guy a home.

Ellie needs a home

Ellie is she years old she is spayed and up-to-date on vaccines. She is a fantastic dog but she has alot of energy. Like a lot a lot and needs a super active family and space to run.

Ellie is great with dogs cats and she’s never met a person she didn’t love but she is a jumper, and would do best in a home without small children as she is a large dog, and could not them over

Ellie loves cheese. I’m pretty sure she will do anything for a little bit of string cheese.

This is a particularly difficult for me, as ellie is a nail trimming client of mine and if I was not already at my absolute maximum capacity, I would take her in a heartbeat and I’m still thinking about it anyway (before I get 900 phone calls yelling at me. Don’t worry I won’t do it.) she is well loved in her current home, but she definitely needs more space than they are able to give her.

Diesal needs a home!
Diesal is a 5 year old pocket bully looking for a new place to call home unfortunately, his human dad passed away and left his mom with 3 small children to raise on her own and the impossible decision to find him a home that can give him the attention he deserves.

Diesel is dealing with some anxiety issues after being bullied by some neighborhood children which included, shooting a BB gun at his front door. because of this incident he does have a bite history, but that bite is specific to this incident.

diesel is up-to-date on vaccines and neutered, but needs to be the only pet in a home. he has never been crated and doesn’t need to be, and he loves walks and snuggles. If you’re interested in being a soft place to land for this good boy, please reach out to me for more info. His mom has reached out to shelters and rescues, and everyone seems to be full. She is desperate to find this guy a good home that can give him the love and attention. He needs and help him feel safe again.

Handsome Hank spent three weeks with me, but this weekend he gets to go to his forever home❤️

Hank was a tough one to let go because I got to spend a lot of time with him but I am very happy that he’ll be going to a friend of mine, so I’ll get to see him all the time.

Casper has pretty terrible allergies and is looking for a home that can restore this boy to his former glory ❤️

He is nervous around other dogs and needs to be in a home with either no children or children over the age of 13

I have one but as many as three dogs that will be coming to me looking for help. They will need vet care and grooming and hanks going to be neutered soon so naturally the food/medical/supply bills are piling up

Remy is looking for a foster (or ideally a home) Remys mom unfortunately passed away and while he is staying with a friend of hers currently she is not able to keep him long term. Remy will need to be neutered prior to becoming available for adoption and unfortunately the house of Kara is full up 🥲.

Foster will need to bring him to Sterling for his neuter appointment which i can make as early as Monday. I am working on vaccine info but that can be taken care of at the neuter appointment.

Remy is 3 and could use a little training and a whole lot of love

I have been absolutely slacking on updates, but there’s two babies went to forever homes last week ❤️

We have a rule in this house that any dog that comes through and stays for an extended period of time gets a new name.!

This guy didn’t know his name to begin with so it should be an easy switch. Im told he is a five month old husky but I will be getting confirmation from the vet tomorrow at his vaccine appointment. If she says he is old enough to be neutered, we will be working on that over the next couple of weeks.

Buzz went on a trial on Sunday with a potential new family, and the verdict is in our boy is officially home 🙌

Update on little Joey

Little Joey has 3 different types of infections in his ears as well as skin issues both of these things will be chronic. We were sent home with THREE different medications to treat his ears and skin along with a long acting med they put in his ears

Next month we will recheck and likely repeat what we’ve done today and add medicated baths to the mix

We were also able to have him tested for heart worm and get his rabies/distemper vac

I can’t thank everyone enough for purchasing raffle tickets to help raise money to get him safe and healthy

I am going to a wedding today. I’m hoping to be able to get home and draw the winner before I leave that, but the winner will be announced tomorrow the latest for the raffle.
