According to a statement by UNICEF (UNICEF, n.d.), vaccines might be saving about five lives every minute. Since the discovery of the smallpox vaccine. vaccines are instrumental in reducing the burden of many diseases and have contributed to reducing child and infant mortality.

Despite the effort by the government in making vaccines available. Vaccine hesitancy is listed among the top ten threats to global health by World Health Organization (WHO).

This week alongside the Connected Development and BudgIT Nigeria team we went on a Market and Campus sensitization on the importance of vaccines and where to get them.

COVID-19 Transparency and Accountability Project (CTAP) is an initiative that seeks to promote accountability and transparency through the tracking of COVID-19 intervention funds across 9 African countries – Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Senegal, and Sierra Leone.
