'I just started a little chai project over summer to kill some time. My grandma always makes us chai when we see her and I wanted more people to try it. I used her recipe and packaged individual teabags to make it easier for people to make (as most high quality chai’s are loose leaf)'

For this week's Society Spotlight, we are promoting 'Women in Stem'.

WiS is a renewed and revamped society at Dundee University aiming to empower women studying STEM. We want to create a supportive community that will celebrate and empower our female students in often male dominated fields. There are around 25% women in STEM at University level, spread out over different subjects. WiS brings them together in meaningful ways by providing exciting opportunities to meet life-long friends while also developing professional careers in important ways.

Events are a mix of fun socials and professional opportunities so that our members can feel welcome and thrive in their chosen field. We plan to support members as much as we can, through as many ways as possible. The society isn’t just for women in STEM, whether there are women studying other subjects that want insight or non-women wanting to come along and support the cause - they can! Welcome to another 'Business Booster', here we have Annsia and her cake business!

'Due to corona jobs haven’t been flying recently and due to the cancellation of the edin fringe where I usually work every summer I was forced to get creative with my ideas! I first made cheesecakes for my family when we were celebrating Eid - they were a great success! So I woke up one day and made an insta page (an_cheesecakes) and started making them for people. I’m Edinburgh/Dundee based however I have also been to Glasgow and surrounding areas to deliver cakes. They are super affordable and come in all type of flavours. My main four are: Oreo, maltesar, biscoff and kinder however I have had many requests for others. There are full cheesecakes which serve 12 and then baby ones that I sell separately (this depends on demand) all ingredients are of the highest quality and everything is halal/vegetarian/gluten free on request - I am in the making of some vegan recipes!'

'Hey! So I'm Kayla and I run a wee Instagram business called ByKaylaDesigns (instagram.com/by_kayladesigns). I make handmade polymer clay earrings. Each set of earrings is made to order so no two pairs are ever the same. Each set is also custom made so I can tailor every pair of earrings to suit the customers style exactly!'
