From the National Hurricane Center: An area of disturbed weather over the central tropical Atlantic Ocean is expected to interact with an approaching tropical wave during the next several days. Some development will be possible while it approaches the Lesser Antilles during the early to middle part of next week and moves generally west-northwestward near the Greater Antilles toward the latter part of the week. Formation chance through 7 days is low at 20%.

It's a rinse and repeat for today's forecast. Scattered to numerous showers and storms will develop today with the highest coverage occurring across southern parts of the area. High temperatures this afternoon climb into the upper 80s and lower 90s.

7/27, 8:20 p.m.: Per OCSO, both lanes of Galliver Cutoff at Parsonage Road are blocked due to a traffic crash.

I-10 drivers will encounter alternating lane closures between mile markers 50 and 58, from 7 p.m. Sunday, July 21 until 6 a.m. Friday, July 26. Construction crews will be paving sections of the roadway.

In addition, drivers will encounter lane closures between mile markers 56 and 58 Tuesday, July 23 through Friday, July 26 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The speed limit through the work zone is 60 mph. Please be alert for construction workers, vehicles, and equipment that may be entering/exiting the travel lanes.

Three women were arrested and charged with 14 counts of aggravated animal cruelty. OCSO and PAWS conducted a welfare check last month based on a tip and found animals severely mistreated. :: CAUTION: images are disturbing. ::

Three were arrested July 12 in conjunction with a case of severe animal cruelty north of Crestview.

UPDATE, 8:55 a.m.: I-10 WB has been reopened.

A dump truck with a raised bed hit the Wilkerson Bluff overpass last night causing the bridge and WB I-10 to be closed. The driver suffered a medical event and was airlifted to a nearby hospital.

Wilkerson Bluff overpass was struck by a dump truck July 12 which closed both I-10 and road over the interstate.
