We have a song for you!
It all started one year ago! I remember that I was at the European Blues Challenge event from the little Danish town of Horsens. The European Blues Union board had the morning meeting, and from the various issues that hit the discussion, one caught my attention. The search of healthy and different ways for promoting the blues community and the blues music. It was obvious that a radio could to the job just fine. But because FM Radios have national coverage only, brainstorming on this idea was needed. In that exact moment, in my mind, European Blues Radio was born. I got back home and started to write all my ideas on paper, and realized that I need a studio, I need equipment, I need material, I need more than just a radio internet address that streams music. Unfortunately, time was not on my side, because I had to fulfill my daily job tasks and also human resources and marketing management at Focsani Blues Festival (for the second year in a row, the biggest Blues festival in Romania). But, as always, my biggest strength is my passion for music and good vibes. And I used this to keep me on track for this beautiful project. When I saw 15000 people cheering, dancing and singing along with the artist from Focsani Blues Festival, I realized that I have to speed things up and put the radio on the top of my task list. I went home and emptied my bedroom and transformed it in a radio studio. I started to design it with my beloved vinyl on the wall. I put the FBF spectators on the studio wall, so I remember myself how much the blues fans are waiting for this radio project. With a small team, I started to make the website and write the mobile apps for the radio. I told everybody I know about this project. Day by day I would rush home to see what new albums I receive for airplay, and what new material I received for research. I transformed the idea of internet radio into a radio platform that will not only play good quality blues music but also will bring fans closer to the artists. It will bring information about blues music production, festivals, events, artists, instruments, etc. closer to blues lovers. Only through the touch of a button!
There is no greater feeling than hearing European Blues Radio daily in my headphones, car speaker, or home speakers. And because my only motivation is my passion for music, music is and will be the engine of this radio. I would like to thank everyone that stands by me in this project. Your support is a great motivation and feeds my soul with joy and satisfaction. I know that the hard part has just begun, but like my grandfather used to say: What’s best is yet to come!
