Today WJXT-TV celebrated the 50th work anniversary of this incredible man, Freddie Rhodes. He's been the studio manager for The Morning Show for several years now. He's always kind, positive, never speaks poorly of others and lifts up those around him. I always think of Freddie when I get off track in my own life. Happy Freddie Day!

One more thing: bridge closures. So far, there are none as I'm writing this at 7:30am Wednesday. They'll close each bridge individually when an officer determines there are sustained winds of 40 miles an hour. That hasn't happened yet, but it COULD happen as the hurricane gets closer. Once the bridge closes, it won't reopen until the storm passes. Stay tuned! We are on the air 'round the clock.
Hurricane Dorian is finally here.Thankfully, it doesn't appear to be nearly as awful as it was down in the Bahamas. WJXT4 Richard Nunn says the hurricane will be about 100 miles off the coast of Northeast Florida between 12 and 4 p.m. today.
A lot of people want to know about bridge closures. During a storm, a law enforcement officer is stationed at the bridge with a measuring tool and when wind speeds reach 40 miles an hour, they will shut that bridge down until after the storm is over. No one ever knows when that'll happen but they're estimating that if it does, it'll be sometime tonight or early tomorrow.
