MDC pitches $22 million increase to budget, water rate breaks for super-users

Rocky Hill Food Warehouse Damaged In Fire, Officials Say

The fire at Burris Logistics, 490 Brook St., was reported shortly before 9:10 p.m. It started in a tractor trailer that had been backed up to the building’s loading dock but quickly spread to the warehouse through the open roll-up door, said Frank J. Kelley, deputy fire marshal.

A Rocky Hill warehouse was damaged and a tractor trailer destroyed in a fire Thursday night, a fire official said. Health inspectors are examining the food to make sure it wasn't contaminated by smoke.

$10.5 Million Senior Center Heads To Referendum in Rocky Hill

After positive feedback from residents, the Rocky Hill Town Council voted to put a $10.5 million expansion of the Senior and Community Center to referendum in November.

A handful of residents spoke out in favor of the town building a $10.5 million addition to the senior and community center.

DOT: South Lanes Of I-91 Closed In Rocky Hill Closed Because Of Rolled Vehicle

A crash involving an overturned vehicle in Rocky Hill forced the closure of I-91 south, the state Department of Transportation said in an alert.

A vehicle rolled over on I-91 south in Rocky Hill Tuesday morning, prompting authorities to shut down the highway. There are reports of people being ejected.l

Judge Rules In Favor Of SecureCare

A judge ruled in favor of the Nursing Home at 60 West saying it operated the same as any nursing home and did not violate Rocky Hill's zoning codes. More on his decision here:

Dick's Sporting Goods to immediately stop selling assault-style rifles in its stores

"When we saw what the kids were going through and the grief of the parents and the kids who were killed in Parkland, we felt we needed to do something," Chairman and CEO Edward Stack said on ""Good Morning America."

Dick's, a major gun retailer, had cut off sales of assault-style weapons at Dick's stores following the Sandy Hook school shooting. But Dick's owns dozens of its Field & Stream stores, where there has been no such ban in place.

Dick's Sporting Goods will end sales of assault-style rifles in stores and won't sell guns to anyone under 21 following the school massacre in Florida.
