“I went to Nepal to take something away of my own; selfish motivations, I guess. But I fell in love with the culture and people, and felt a desire grow to do something for the country, for the people. I'm not sure the extent of what that is yet, but I can't let it go. The Annapurna Circuit is a trekking route ( long distance footpath ) around the Annapurna mountain range in Nepal Himalayas .This route can be walked on average acclimatized and physically prepared trekkers in 18 to 21 days and is considered one of the finest and most varied in the world. The majority of the route runs through the territory of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) , the first and largest conservation area in Nepal. The Circuit is, as its name suggests, a circular route. The path meanders mostly through valleys, with a pass crossing the Thorong La. Nevertheless, it is possible to vary the route without major logistical effort.

Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City is the second largest city of Nepal , situated about 200 km west of the capital Kathmandu. Pokhara is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Nepal. Three out of the ten highest mountains in the world — Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I and Manaslu — are situated within 30 miles (linear distance) of the city, so that the northern skyline of the city offers a very close view of the Himalayas. Due to its proximity to the Annapurna mountain range, the city is also a base for trekkers undertaking the Annapurna Circuit through the ACAP region of the Annapurna ranges in the Himalayas.
