President Ashraf Ghani ordered an inquiry on airstrike that killed 40 civilians in Helmand province. Helmand Provincial Council and Musa-Qala District residents said that at least 40 civilians were killed as a result of an airstrike by Afgan National Army and their international allies.
Musa-Qala has been one of the largest Taliban centers in latest years. Taliban ambushes between residential areas, which generally leads to too many civilian casualties.

During the New York U.S. Council on Foreign Relations, Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan stated that "ISI [ Pakistan's intelligence agency ] trained Al-Qaeda to fight in Afghanistan, so there has always been a connection between them".
This is the first time that PM has explicitly disclosed the ISI - AlQaeda relationship.
