Ever have one of those days where fatherhood feels more like a brain puzzle?

Dr. Scott Frey is an actual neuroscientist who joined me on the pod to share his experience as a dad.

It was a refreshing and thoughtful conversation to have during this busy season. I hope it helps to bring the same levity to you as it did me.

We are really excited to share this conversation with Alex Palmer.

In this episode, Alex and Anthony talk about what it is like to experience a difficult pregnancy, fertility treatments, miscarriages, IVF and many of the other challenges that can come with trying to get pregnant - from the male perspective.

They also discuss how lonely and one-sided the process can feel for men and why we feel it is so important for men to talk to other men about what they’re going through.

Alex is the founder and host of The Fellowman Podcast (formerly the Blackdog Cast) and does great work over there so be sure to check it out.

is a dad to two, a lawyer, co-host of the , a veteran, and the founder of .

It was an absolute pleasure having Nick on the show this week. We talk about the creation of Nick’s non-profit, Team Foster, and what that has taught him about fatherhood, his new podcast, blended families, integrity, honesty, empathy, representation, the power of women, leadership, talking with our kids about what is happening in Ukraine, and so much more.

Thanks for listening!

New episode up today featuring !

Michael is a dad to one, former US Ski Team Member & World Cup athlete, and an incredibly good human.
Michael and I talk a lot about the respect, admiration and love we have for our dads on this pod, about his journey as a dad, and about the recent Marshall fire in Boulder, Co.

Michael, his wife Rachel, and their daughter Darwin lost their home and all their belongings in the recent fire and as unimaginably challenging as that is, they have been wrapped in love and support by family, friends, and the Boulder community.

Even though it is a story full of sadness, it is also one full of beauty, hope and kindness-something that feels to be missing in so much of the dialogue in today's society.

If you would like to contribute to the GoFundMe discussed in the episode to support the Friedberg family; the link is in our show notes!

🎙 New pod up today featuring !

JJ is a dad to twins, the Chef/Foudner of FIELDTRIP, the co-author of Between Heaven and Harlem - 2019 winner of the James Beard Award for Best American Cookbook, and host of the cooking show - Just Eats with Chef JJ.

JJ and I talked a lot about the intersection of food and culture on the pod this week.

We dove into how he shares culture through cooking, why he feels it is so important to do so, and how he hopes to share all of this with his kids.

We also talked about some of the cultural struggles of being a black father raising black kids, how he and his restaurant worked to support their community during the Covid-19 pandemic, and we had some laughs over him cutting his teeth as a parent with twins!

A big thanks to JJ for getting into some heavy stuff with me during this conversation.

took on one of y’all’s questions on the pod this week!

The question was, as a dad/husband who isn’t a professional athlete-how do you balance training, exploring, etc. with your other roles?

Loved the shoutout to his wife for the support! I couldn’t do half of my adventures if it weren’t for my tribe at home. Who helps you be able to get out the door and train/explore? 👇🏼👇🏼

Don’t know about you guys, but I was glad to hear say this on the pod this week, as it’s been my mantra for what feels like the last couple weeks.

Taking the time to be able to laugh and not take all that comes at us to seriously is a great lesson. Thanks for sharing Andy!

We are back this week with a new episode featuring Andy Pearson!

is a dad to two, the VP of Creative at , an ultra runner and a man capable of growing a lot of hair!

Andy and I dive into a lot on the pod this week! Andy talks about some funny stories from the campaigns he has worked on at Liquid Death (like capturing some of blood), his training for the Barkley Marathon and the Vol State Race.

We also take a dive into the world of climate change and how we view its impacts now as dads. We talk about how important protecting our planet and “playgrounds” are so we can adventure with our kids, and how we are capable of making the change we need. Andy wraps up the show with some killer thoughts during our rapid fire section.

A big thanks to Andy for joining me on the pod and to for helping to connect us!

is back on the pod this week for an all new episode!

I had a great time connecting with Jason again. We dove into a lot on this episode, but the conversation started with talking about the new book that he and his son True wrote, “Courage Is…”, how that journey started and what it was like getting to have that experience with his son.

This led to a deeper conversation around courage, Jason’s current work helping to get folks out of Afghanistan, mental health, race and its relationship to privilege and parenting, getting involved in local elections, “normalizing stuff” and much more!

A huge thanks to Jason for joining me on the pod again and for helping to inspire us all to be a little more courageous.

Be sure to not miss my conversation with . I really appreciated his honesty about how even being a parent to an adult “kid” can still kick your ass at times!

07/01/2022

On the pod this week, talked about how his dad knew when to not butt in and how that is a strong piece of parenting advice for us all.

Do any of you find it hard to know when or when not to interject with your kids?

It seems like so many of us are living “atypical lifestyles” these days when it comes to work. There is a pretty interesting interaction between that and how we parent.

It was great to chat with about his experience with the balance of parenting and working.

This week on the pod I am joined by Ted King!

I had a fantastic time chatting with Ted for this episode. No new episode this week! Sorry, but we had a little too much holiday excitement this past weekend….

But don’t worry! The last episode of 2021 will be dropping next Monday (the 20th).

A little teaser for next week’s episode. I had a great time talking with last night and can’t wait to share this episode with you!

“What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned from your dad” is one of my favorite questions to ask my guest on the pod and Ted gave a beautiful answer to the question this week.
