A GREAT WAY TO START THE DAY
It might seem a strange thing to start the day thinking of death, but that is what we are called to do, isn't it?
Memento mori.
Meditating on our death early in the day can provide a particular focus and purpose to our day.
EVERYTHING we do should be done in light of the possibility of meeting our maker this very day.
How many trivial arguments would we avoid? How much time would we spend in prayer, with family and holy friends?
How would we share the gospel with words and through the example of our lives?
This doesn't bring sadness. It brings joy and laser focus.
Let us always meditate on our death.

“My advice, therefore, is to live as if you would die at any moment and to live each day as if it could be your last ...
For while everything else in the future course of your life -- your success or failure, your prosperity or poverty, your happiness or wretchedness are unknown, hidden and indeterminate, death is the one thing of which you may be absolutely sure.”
