FIFTY FIVE (59) YEARS OLD WOMAN CRIES FOR JUSTICE IN LUNSAR

The fifty five (59) years Haja Memunatu Maruff Bangura lives in Lunsar town, she gave birth to seven (7) children with late Maruff Bangura. She lost one of her child and remain five Male and one Female: Alieu Michael Bangura, Jaward Bangura, Amara Bangura, Mahawa Bangura, GibrilBosco Bangura and Hassan Foday Bangura. All of them are of the same father and mother respectively. They were brought up by the single handed parent.
Eventually, the first son Alieu Michael Bangura travelled to the United Kingdom after few months he sent three thousand United State Dollars to his mother to established her business where she handed over the said money to Jaward Bangura for the removal of the 504 vehicle from the water key, and other business transaction was done in respect of the money through his mother.
In the year 2003, the eldest son Alieu Michael Bangura used to send money for the development of the family on diverse time. The second son (Jaward Bangura) was the one her mother entrusted with the family affairs in Sierra Leone. With the wisdom of the first son (Alieu Michael Bangura) brought in to the family for the purchase of pices of land for his mother in Sierra Leone with the determination of constructing a standard hotel on the said disputed land and worth of properties in question.
During that period, Jaward Bangura the second son who is currently challenging/ contesting against his mother and his entire family by way of claiming the title of ownership for the family properties. while he was in Freetown, the fifty 55 years Haja Memunatu Maruff Bangura told this medium that, his son Alieu Michael Bangura sent three thousand pounds that was entrusted to his second son Jaward Bangura through him, which he admitted to be true and correct that the money was sent from Alieu Michael Bangura from the United Kingdom UK to him (Jaward Bangura) to be collected in Freetown over Ten Million Leones (Le 10,000,000) to be handed over to his mother Haja Memunatu Maruff Bangura safely which he did.
After a couple of weeks, the (55) years Haja Memunatu Maruff Bangura admitted to us in this medium that she called on his husband Maruff Bangura together with other family members to discuss on the money that was sent from Alieu Michael Bangura in respect of the development of the land and the construction of the hotel as per gentle man’s agreement for a hotel and was instructed not to buy old town area in Lunsar town but rather Makeni highway.
Indeed Jaward (Second Son) follows his mother’s instruction. Eventually, he met with reverend Mans that his mother sent him to search for a vacant land with money in his bag. During that process, reverend Mans further instructed Mr. Jaward to call on his parent to discuss on the said land which he did. On their way to Reverend Mans at his resident they met him and asked the two parents if they were the one that sent Jaward indeed they acknowledge that to reverend Mans that they are the one that sent him to purchase a piece of land. Based on the assurance from the two parents, reverend Mans instantly sent a message to one of the headmen by the name of Pa Foday who stays at Mabesseneh town Lunsar at that time.
Pa Foday (Headmen) came and explained to him that they were the one that sent Jaward to him to search for a piece of land. Pa foday later answered that he has a land but they need to go and inspect the land first at the forest area/ bush at Materone.
Pa Foday sold the land to Jaward for four hundred thousand leones old note (Le 400,000) for each. During that period, the mother of Jaward asked the headmen (Pa Foday) to do proper verification as to whether what Jaward told them is correct.
After the land was demarcated, she further asked his son Jaward the amount of portion of land he bought which he told his mother that it is above six town (6) lots, he also further stated that it has been mentioned.
After the compulsion of buying the land, Mr. Michael Kamara whose parents are the actual owners of the said land heard about what has transpired with his parents, he eventually went to reverend Mans who was the coordinator towards the land, reverend Mans spoke to Michael Kamara to have access to saw the sticks in that land in question. When he went there to saw the boards, he came to realized that the land was above six (6) town lots from Pa Foday he instantly ordered that the land should be measured for the second time. On the process of measuring the land they realized that it was above six (6) town lots. Thereafter, Jaward and, Mr. Michael continued to go further for the remaining four and half town lots directly instead of Pa Foday which some up to fifteen town lots respectively based on the factual business transaction they went through.
Upon the return of Jaward elder brother (Michael Alieu Bangura) from the United Kingdom UK, Jaward together with his family members went at the site for inspection as to how the transaction went through based on the previous monies that was sent through him for the purchased of the said land and other development that has taking place in respect of the family.
Based on the allegation of claiming family properties, his mother Haja Memunatu Maruff Bangura took the matter to the local court for the determination of the rightful owner of the said property in question early this year of which Jaward Bangura is contesting against his family members. After proper and extensive court hearings and appearances, the local court eventually passed a ruling in favour of Haja Memunatu Maruff Bangura the mother of Jaward Bangura based on the following court findings:
• The Disputed Land in question was bought in 2003.
• That Alieu Michael Bangura sent huge sum of money for the purchased of the said Land in question.
• Jaward Bangura received monies in respect of the disputed land in question, and also testifies in court that in did he received the said amount from his elder brother Mr. Alieu Michael Bangura and bought the disputed land in question.
• That Jaward Bangura witness 1 (PW1) testified evidence in court that, he saw the land agreement document in which Haja Memunatu Maruff Bangura was recorded as a land buyer in that agreement, Jaward Bangura witness 2 (PW2) never knew where the land agreement was made. She only knew where the money was paid
• The court also found out that, the hotel in question is a family property and there is no right to removed Jaward Bangura from the hotel.
• That Jaward Bangura did malpractice to change the entire land agreement document HAJA MEMUNATU MARUFF BANGURA and recorded his name as the rightful owner of the family estate/properties.
After thorough investigation, findings from the local court and the statement adduced from both the Haja Memunatu Maruff Bangura who happened to be the mother and the Plaintiff in the above matter and Jaward Bangura- son who is the second son in the matter and witnesses, after careful examine the merit and the demerit of the fact of the matter in dispute they came into conclusion that the Plaintiff Haja Memunatu Maruff Bangura was the rightful owner of the property
