Happy Birthday to radio's favorite cousin (and ours) Cousin Brucie Morrow, who turns 86 on October 13th, and celebrates 62 years in radio. After leaving SiriusXM in 2020, Brucie's back home at WABC in New York, where his legion of fans around the country listened to him from 1961 to 1974, and can now hear his "Saturday Night Rock & Roll Party" on the radio, the WABC app or on wabcradio.com. Enjoy your cake and ice cream, cuz. We love you.
A quarter of a century is a long time. It's enough time to take us from Hank Williams to Jimi Hendrix, and to miss John Lennon. It's also slightly less than the number of years Dan Ingram spent at WABC, where he once posted a 28 share, making his show the most listened radio program in the history o...

Happy Birthday (October 13th) to Bruce Morrow. He started his career at ZBM-AM as "The Hammer" but we all know him as America's favorite relative, Cousin Brucie. 2020 has been a year of changes for Brucie. He left Sirius/XM this summer, where he'd been broadcasting from home during the pandemic with his wife, Jodie, and Cookie the cat, and now does his Saturday Night Rock and Roll Party from his old home, 50,000-watt powerhouse WABC, where, for 13 years (1961-1974) he was heard all over the country. If you're not a New Yorker you can catch him online or on the WABC app.. Enjoy your cake and ice cream, Cuz. To find out more about Brucie, check out his interview on our site https://www.theairplaychannel.com/bruce-morrow or order our DVD on Amazon or through our site. https://www.amazon.com/Airplay-Rise-Radio-public-television/dp/B006WPDKR2/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3UXNQ8WA8FTFV&dchild=1&keywords=airplay+the+rise+and+fall+of+rock+radio&qid=1602209643&sprefix=airplay+rise+fall%2Caps%2C177&sr=8-1
It's the end of an era. Cousin Brucie just announced that he's leaving Sirius/XM after his Saturday show. He says he's not retiring, and he'll keep fans updated on his page. Brucie's been on satellite radio for 15 years, and a part of radio listeners’ lives for more than 60.
Brucie was the inspiration for "Airplay" and our earlier shows. He was the first deejay we called, because without him, it wouldn't have worked. I sent him a request. He called me. The rest is history. Every time we saw him, he couldn't have been warmer. He truly makes you feel like family.
We wish him and Jodie the best in their next adventure.
